Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!! I love Halloween! I can't wait for tonight! I love seeing the kids all dressed up and having fun sorting through their candy after the night is over! fun...fun...fun!
Here is a little box I made using the scalloped envelope die and my new Big Shot Die Cut Machine!! {you really must have one of these!} You just cut out 4 envelopes and glue them together to make it into a box. I added some extra dsp and ribbon and a little pumpkin stamp and it was done! It was a super easy project! You can find some great directions here on Jane's blog. I took some Hershey's nuggets and covered in them some halloween paper to fill up the box.
I hope you have a super fun & spooky Halloween!

another rosette

Actually this was the first rosette and card I made yesterday. I decided to try my hand at it again for the color challenge. (posted below) I love this card. I love the Autumn Vine paper and I am in love with the super chunky double stitched ribbon! I am already having to order more of this! I used versamark to add just a hint of a background on the saffron paper...I didn't want to take anything away from the rosette. {check out Angie's blog for the "how-to" on these!} Have a FANTASTIC Thursday! Only one day till Halloween! yippee! Thanks so much for coming by and all the kind comments you leave! Ya'll are awesome!!

color inspiration #28

Hello again...two posts in one day...WOW! I couldn't resist the color challenge though. Here is my card for Kristina's color challenge. I love this combo! Great fall colors! I played around today making these paper rosettes that Angie showed how to make on her blog. They are easy...and I like easy! I finally remembered I had these filigree brads and was able to use them today too. Thanks for coming by...gotta run to make dinner...these kids are so demanding...always wanting to eat! What' s up with that? :)

happy turkey day

How cute is this little guy? I snagged this idea from the October issue of Stampin' Success {it's a monthly magazine you get if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator} He is made entirely from punches. This was super simple to make. The kids saw me making this and they have insisted I show them how so that they can make some of their own turkey cards! I think I am going to use this to make place settings for Thanksgiving dinner. The "happy thanksgiving" is a rub on from Seasonal Sayings. I have tried doing a tutorial once before and it wasn't that great...but I will try to do one for this just to show you how to fold the scalloped circle to get the cute layered feathers...in case you want to make your own turkey!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

snowflakes

Aren't these snowflakes cool? I love them! Thanks to my friends Melissa...she sent me a link to this great tutorial on making a nice scalloped corner with your scallop edge punch. Monica at My Many, Many Passions has other great tutorials to offer as well! She has a video to show how to make these darling snowflakes! They were very simple to make...just took a little time. I used my Ski Slope dsp to make these three snowflakes. I am going to make a bunch more of these to use on some of my christmas gifts this year! Wouldn't that be a fun package to get?...one with a big snowflake on it made with gorgeous designer paper! I added a stamped snowflake to the middle and a rhinestone brad to finish it off!
Hope the start of your week has been wonderful!! I am getting so excited for Halloween this Friday!!...can't wait for the weekend to get here!

Happy Holidays

Good Sunday afternoon! Here is a quick card that I made just so I could dive into my Ski Slope dsp that I got! {love it!!} This is pretty much the same card as the Christmas cards I made and sent out last year. I just changed up the colors of course. I also added just a few dots of Crystal Effects to the bulbs on the tree and the star to make them shine and stand out a little. I just love this layout...it's quick, easy and still makes a fabulous looking card! I am teaching a card class next week at my church. We are making Christmas cards and so I am going to use this layout. I think this is a card anyone can make even if you don't think you can make cards or have a crafty side to you! :)
Gonna go hang with the family...we are going to play some games and do some baking today! :) Enjoy your Sunday!

Just Jawing

I got this set in my order that came the other day so I wanted to play around with it. It's super fun. I can see using this for lots of Kailee's friends! I have been very into the dazzling diamonds lately...so they keep ending up on my cards...and all over me too! I glittered up the bones...ya know cuz it's more fun when bones glitter! I used the layout from yesterdays Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast. This was a simple and fun card!

Halloween basket

Yeah for Mr. Brown coming yesterday! I got all sorts of goodies!! One of the things I ordered...finally...was the Big Shot Die Cut Machine. Of course the actual machine hasn't come yet cuz it's on back order but I did get my dies. I was too anxious to wait for the Big Shot to get here so you should have seen me this morning trying to get this thing through my Cuttlebug!! I think I tried about 10 times before I got it to work and cut out this little basket! It was worth it though! Isn't this cute...I can tell I am going to be using this thing alot!! (once it comes) {{FYI...you have to have one of these...if you are on the fence about it...jump off! I haven't even gotten mine and I love it already...the dies are to die for!!!}}Tyson suggested the paper with the spider web on it! Ty has a great eye for all things crafty just like his mom! I filled the basket up with Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses after I assembled it. I also added some stickles to the white dots but you can't really tell in the picture!

merry & bright

Good Afternoon!! I am loving the fall weather we are finally having here in Katy! Sometimes during those hot months it seems like the nice days will never get here! I couldn't resist stamping this morning before I got to all my other responsibilities. I found these sticky doodlebug letters at Archivers last time I was there. I wasn't even looking for them either...they just called out to me and I found them! :) I cover the letters in green glitter. I made this card for the challenge this week at 2 sketches 4 you...although I strayed a little bit...I think it can still be worthy! I used some of the yummy riding hood red ribbon and kept this card fairly simple. I really wanted the "merry & bright" to be the focus! I also used a little bit of the Holiday Treasures dsp and a few ruby red brads to finish off my card.
Gotta run...Kailee, Tyson & Kyler have their first rehearsal today! They all tried out and made it into the local high school production of the Wizard of Oz...they are going to be munchkins! CUTE huh!

Mr Twigster in the Snow

Wow...what a full, fun and crazy week we had! There has been so much going on that there was no time for blogging {which was clearly evident in my last post} We finally had Tyson's birthday party, which was a backwards party. {there will be a post on that later!} AND Ty was baptized on Saturday...it was such a special day for him and our family! I am super proud of him!
Since my weekend is coming to end I wanted to share this card I made last weekend. I absolutely love Mr. Twigster...he was just too cute to pass up! I also love this patterned paper in the mini catalog. I used heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds to make snow all over the "ground" to make it look like Mr. Twigster was standing in the snow. It turned out pretty ok. I added some crystal effects to the bulbs on the tree and to some random dots on the dsp to make them shine a little. I added some of that yummy kiwi ribbon, a few brads and I was done.
I hope you have a fabulous start to your week! Thanks for dropping in!

Mini Pizza Box

Hey! It's already Wednesday...how did that happen? I don't even know....but before any more days get away from me I better share something. I made this mini pizza box last week. It was one of the projects we did at my Stamp Club last Saturday. These little boxes are simple to make. And you can add just about anything to jazz 'em up. I put 3 little Hershey bars in there that say 'You have been Booed'. They fit perfectly! gotta run...time to hit the showers!

it's been forever...

It has been soooo long since I had the time to do one of Beate's weekend sketch challenges! {actually I didn't have time, I just did it anyway!} I love my stocking from the retired Event Full set and I am so glad Christmas is coming around again so I can use it! I used my new Frosty Days paper...isn't is so cool...I love the colors. I never would have chosen orange for a holiday or winter color but this works!! I added some diamond stickles to some of the dots on the paper to give a little "pop"! Hope you like it! I also hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend! My Shawners came home last night so my Sunday has been heavenly!!

Friendship Tree

What am I doing up so early on a Saturday?...it's terrible isn't it?! Kailee had choir auditions this morning so we all got to be up bright and early! So...since I am up you get a new post! I have my stamp club meeting tonight and this is one of the cards we are going to make. Don't you absolutely love the *fat* ribbon! This is a must have and you will love it too if you don't already! It's the 1 inch double stitched chocolate ribbon! I wanted that big knot on my card so I worked around that...a little backwards I know. I stamped my tree off of the paper and added leaves. I also added some of the beautiful Autumn Vine paper...don't ya just love it too?! A sentiment and a little blue bird and I was done! I think the gals in my stamp club will love this card!
I hope you have a great day! {{hugs}} I am super excited because after 14 days Shawners is gonna be home tonight!! :) yeah for all of us!

pullin' out old stamps

Yeah for Fridays. I love the weekends! I thought I would start my weekend off with a color challenge. So here it is. {if you want to try this challenge to click here} This stamp set is old, old...I think one of the first few I ever got. {maybe that's why I haven't parted with it yet} I just love this envelope with flowers coming out of it! I wish all my mail was like this...don't you? I watercolored the image. I am getting a little better at it I think...it is definitely some that does not come easy to me! I added a few dots of stickles to the middles of the flowers to give the card a little something extra!! I crumpled the red paper and then smoothed it out to stick down on the card. Nothing to fancy here...open you enjoy my "old" card.
*Did anyone see The Office last night? Too FUNNY!! Maybe that's why I always wake up in such a good mood on Fridays...cuz I had my dose of The Office the night before!*

Halloween Mail

So I had this idea to take the cute mailbox from the Love Owl-Ways set and make my own little envelope with a bat and make some Halloween mail. I don't know? It didn't quite turn out the way I had envisioned. I am not sure if it's from the dsp I used or colors or what. It's sorta cute...{I know I am my own worst critic}. At the last minute when I thought I was done I added the owl...I think that helped. Anyway...I am going to attempt this again when I have some time.
Ok enough wishy-washy, down on my creativeness schtuff! How is your Thursday? Today it's absolutely gorgeous outside. I have the windows open and my music on...so despite my card not turning out quite like I hoped I enjoyed myself anyway! I am busy finishing up some projects for my Stamp Club on Saturday. Spooky Nights

The week is half over...what? So much to do and so little time! It's amazing how fast the time goes by when you don't want it to!! So as seems to be the norm these days this is a quick post! I sponged all the color on here...I don't have a brayer or even the slightest clue how to use one so I faked it! I used my tree and stamped it in black and thought it would make a perfect Halloween tree with all those empty branches. A few bats hanging upside down, an owl, a pumpkin and a black cat and that is pretty much Halloween! right?! I stickled the moon to make it stand out a little. I added some Ghostly Greetings paper, some kiwi ribbon and it's done!
Have a fantabulous day!

Mr. Twigster

Happy Tuesday morning...I woke up to rain this morning...yeah! I LOVE it when it rains and I haven't seen any since I got back in town a few weeks ago. I feel like I kinda got my groove back and am in the stamping mode again! yeah for me! I sat down the other night to ink Mr. Twigster...isn't he so fun!? {if you just can't live without him either let me know...he is in the Holiday Mini for just $13.95} I think I am going to use him on some of my christmas cards this year. I also got to use some of my new Holiday Treasure dsp. It's gorgeous...the papers ARE ALWAYS better in person...the catalog just never seems to do them justice!! :) I hope you have a fabulous day!! :)

a fall tree

It's Monday....normally I would be less than excited but I am feeling so much better and not running a fever anymore that I am happy about everything today!! :) Even though I felt terrible I forced myself to sit down and stamp something...I haven't really stamped in almost a month {oh boy that embarrassing and painful to acknowledge} I have so many new fun things to play with and they are all just sitting there wasting away! So I pulled out my new tree...this is one of my favorite sets I think! I didn't do anything that hasn't already been done before I am sure but it was still fun to make. I inked up the leaves and punched them out with my 3/4 in. circle punch. I had to throw on a little Autumn Vine dsp {it's in the new Holiday Mini catalog and it is yummy!!} even though the large tree covers up most of it!
Well...I am off...lots of things to catch up on today since I was out of commission this last weekend!

Recipe Holder

I have been running a fever of 103 this weekend...not sure why cuz other than the fever and being tired I feel fine! I am feeling a little better this evening so I thought I would share this cute recipe card holder I found when I was in Utah. I thought it would be cute to keep on my kitchen counter and change out the recipes for the holidays or whatever I feel in the mood for! For right now I am keeping my Pumpkin Bread recipe in there. I love Pumpkin Bread and this is a fabulous recipe.!! I just printed out the recipe on a piece of vanilla paper and backed it with pumpkin pie paper. I watercolored the little pumpkin and stuck it on with a dimensional. Click on this smaller picture----> and you should be able to see the recipe well enough to copy it down and try it out for yourself! I promise you won't be disappointed! :)

**OOPS...thanks to Connie for pointing out that I somehow left out the shortening for the bread!...where is my head?

chocolate spiders

Ok...so I am still super busy but I had enough time to make 2 of these little guys which I have been wanting to do for a few days now. I saw this idea from some talented lady on Splitcoast. {here is the link to casegj's cute spiders} Aren't they cute?! These are the kind of spiders I can get on board with. They are super simple! There is a York Peppermint Patty in between the 2 black scallops. Then you use your photo corner punch for the legs! Could not be easier...you should take a minute and make some yummy spiders for yourself too!
gotta run...still gotta feed the kiddos!
