Loads of Trucks

Hi gals...Have I been a blogging slacker or what?!! I hate it when things get so busy that I don't have time to post stuff or stay caught up on my blogs I like to stalk...umm follow, I mean! :)
I am having a card class next week and I wanted to use up some paper I have laying around...someone might as well get some use out of it since it's just sitting in my drawer collecting dust. I have so much paper it's embarrassing! Does it keep me from buying more though?...sadly no! I love my designer papers! I love my truck stamp and haven't used it in a while so I thought this would be a fun one for a class since it's so versatile. I am going to have stations at my class so instead of having all your cards in front of you and having to ask 20 times can you pass me this and this...the girls will move from station to station and make a card at each one! I had fun coloring the last couple of days...I forgot how much I love it and how therapeutic it is! Coloring is good for the soul! :)
Have a fantastic rest of your day and weekend too! We are going to the Katy Rodeo on Friday night! I love when the Katy Rodeo is here...it's one of the things I love about living here! Then we have a super full Saturday too. I hope I will get to sneak in some stamping time somewhere in there...I got some new goodies I can't wait to play with! :)

Rub-Ons and Acetate

Hey....I couldn't resist sharing this card right away! I love the way it turned out {except for the little piece of rub-on right on the top of the owl's head that messed up...ugh} I snagged some inspiration from the new Occasions Mini Catalog that us demos get to preview! There are some darling and super fun ideas in there with window sheets. I love the idea of using rub-ons on them! I cut a piece of acetate the same size as my card front and adhered it in the 4 corners with glue dots. After the rub-ons I added the ribbon and I was done! It was so easy and super fast! :) I made this in the same time it took me to give Tyson his spelling pre-test!

Trendy Trees

I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend! We had a long 4 day weekend at our house! We got so many 'to-do's' done that had been accumulating on our list! It was great! We also just relaxed...it has been a long time since we were able to just be at home and not have a gazillion places to be to!
Here are a couple of cards to share that I made this weekend. This is my 3rd attempt at getting a good picture and the weather is just not cooperating...so it is what it is! I give up! I love this Trendy Trees set! It is sooo cute!! I used my new paper that is offered for free in the Sale-a-bration catalog!!
**Are any of you Bachelor watchers? I couldn't believe that Jason let Jill go!! I really liked her...I was hoping they would get together! {I don't normally watch The Bachelor but I went to elementary, jr. high and high school with Jason so it's been fun to see him on there!} It's my latest claim to fame! Anyway...gotta go watch American Idol...I am a slave to my shows when Shawners is out of town! It keeps me company!
Hope you have a great night! chat at ya later!

lots of Milk Cartons

It's 11:00pm and I can't sleep! So when I can't sleep...it's a perfect time to get my blogging done! :) I went crazy making Milk Cartons these last few days. Now that I have made a few I am getting faster at them. It's not to bad once I set up a little assembly line for myself. I even had to go to the doctor on Tuesday and took some things with me...I got a lot done while I was in the waiting room! :)
If you want to make these you can go to Becky's blog Inking Idaho...she has a fabulous tutorial for sale! I made the 2 Valentines ones for Tyson and Kyler's teachers. The other two are for friends whose birthdays are coming up...for a little birthday treat! {birthdays are always better with chocolate!!} Ok...I am off to bed...crossing my fingers I can get some sleep!

I stamped a card!!!

Can you believe it? I actually stamped a card! I have been stamping and doing other projects but it has been almost a month since I just sat down and stamped a card! {I didn't realize it had been that long till I just now looked!} WOW! Anyway...the other night I all of the sudden became extremely impatient and irritated that I didn't have my Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. {it's coming...UPS just isn't coming fast enough} So I cased the card that is in the Stampin' Up! Catalog next to that stamp set {pg. 106} using another set, Embrace Life. I love the green, blue and brown combo. The "birthday" sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set. I can't wait to get my order so I can make some gorgeous card with that 5th ave. set!!! :)
I hope you are having a fabulous start to your week! Thanks for all the nice comments about the "cake"! Shawn absolutely loved! He waited a day to dive in cuz he said it was to cool to eat, but after he had that first candy...I am now seeing lots of empty spots! ;)
THANKS for stopping by! chat at ya later!

cake anyone?

While you are waiting, anxiously I am sure, to see the rest of the project I am working on. {see post below} I have something else to share with you. Shawners was out of town this year for his birthday. He was in Indonesia. We are going to be celebrating when he gets home tomorrow. Shawn isn't big on sweets...he really doesn't care for chocolate! I KNOW, I KNOW, it's painful even to type. I should've been more thorough in my question asking session before I agreed to the "I DO's" :) See what happens when you are twitterpated and the man you love asks him to marry you? You forget about the importance of some things! Oh well...we've come to far now! :) So he isn't big into having the traditional birthday cake. I found this in my google wandering {don't you love Google?...I could not live without it} He does love the Hershey Nuggets with Almonds though. He likes them cold from the freezer so he doesn't taste as much of the chocolate. I thought this year this would be a fun cake for him to have. He can have it all to himself and I even made a home for it in the freezer so he can enjoy it the way he likes it! The was simple to make. Just wrapping, and gluing and decorating. I used an old Simply Scrap Kit that I had left. I don't remember the name of it. I used toothpicks for some of the decorations to stand out a little. The paper curls I just wrapped around my stylus and then played with till they looked good to me. The candy is glued to styrofoam circles I got at the craft store.
Alrighty...I have babbled enough for one night! chat at ya later...
Thanks for coming by!!!

sneak peek

I'm here, I'm here! I really am here! I gotta just start by telling ya'll that when your hubby {when I say 'your' I mean 'mine'} is gone for 10 days out of the country...it's like life knows and suddenly I am so crazy busy I don't have time for anything...even the things that need to be done! I have felt winded since he left! The kids have needed to be everyone all at once! Somehow all the laundry is dirty, the groceries are gone and of course I had one that was sick with Tonsillitis no less. Without draggin' this out any longer...let's just say that I have had zero stamp time. Until today...I got what I thought was a brilliant idea the other day and so I have been rounding up supplies to work on it. I am giving you a sneak peek of the front of what it is. You can probably all guess...anyway...I am going to remain mysterious about it until I finish and then I will share lots of pictures and details!
Thanks for your patience and for coming by! Have a super night!
chat at you later :)
