Copy Cat Basket

Hello...Happy Monday! How has your week started? Mine was exciting...I popped on over to Nancy's blog to check out her Ipicks and imagine my surprise when I saw that my Rolodex Birthday Reminder {see post below} was one of her picks! That was a fun start to the week...I love seeing Nancy's picks! Thanks Nancy!! :)
This basket is a total copy cat of the one that MJ Albright did. That girl is amazing! I had just barely gotten my top note and scallop envelope die in the mail when she posted her basket and I wanted to try one too! {a little side note...check out the boat pop up card that MJ made it is sooo cute! } This week I am going to be sharing a lot of copy cat projects I have done over the past month. I have been quite busy with a couple of banner projects {I will be able to show you soon} so I haven't made anything new in a couple weeks!
Thanks for stopping by...chat at ya later!

Rolodex birthdays

I am here, I am here, I am here {can you hear the chant from 'Horton Hears a Who' when the "Who's" are trying to be heard on the speck!} I can't believe how much time has passed since I last posted anything! I am just being way too busy with responsible things...I need to be a better blogger! :) This last week was spring break for my kids so I was busy playing the part of entertainer for the week. I think we will finally be getting back to our normal routine and hopefully that will include some major stamping time for me!
Remember way back in this post when I labeled it sneak peek and then didn't follow up! I know it's embarrassingly late but that's about my life these days! So here is what I made. For a really long time I have wanted a better way to remember birthdays. The books and calendars just weren't cuttin' it for me! So I decided to make my own rolodex. I love this idea for 2 reasons...one because I thought of it all on my own. After making it I have seen that others thought of it too but I am proud to say before I went searching and saw anyone else's work I thought this one up in my very own head!!! :) The second reason is cuz it is soooo handy for me. I can slip new names in there without having to squeeze it in on a calendar or do any crossing out or erasing!! I keep it out on my stamp table so that it is accessible and I can check it at the beginning of every month and know what I need! I found the super cute paper at Joann's and just cut out some of the cute images for each month. I kept this simple cuz I knew it would get a lot of use with me flipping through. I also found a super cool rolodex punch at Office Max!
I hope that you have had a fantastic weekend and have a great start to your week!

A banner for Kyler

Yesterday was Kyler's birthday...my baby is 6 I can hardly believe it! Time goes by waaayyyy too fast! I made him a special birthday banner. Instead of doing Happy Birthday, I did his name so he can hang it on his bedroom wall when it finally comes off the the mantle. He loved it! I used the Cosmo Cricket Robot paper I have. I bought a ton of it when it first came out....it is great boy paper! :) The letters are chipboard with white craft ink and some white fun flock on it. It turned out cute and was pretty fast to put together...I did the whole thing yesterday afternoon.
Have a great day and weekend! I am going with some friends to a hotel and a girls weekend tomorrow and Saturday. I can't wait...it will be so fun to have some fun girl time! :)

Manhattan Flowers

I have more new goodies to share! I also got the Manhattan Flower folder in my preorder! {i love the preorder perk of being a Stampin' Up! demo} Isn't it fabulous? It's similar to a Cuttlebug folder. This makes a really deep impression though and it's gorgeous. I love the simplicity and clean look. I ran my folder through the Big Shot with a piece of dsp from Walk in the Park. I loved the all grey look with just a pop of color from the ribbon! I sanded the flower print so it would really stand out. I used one of my new jumbo grommets, a white one. ..you just poke the grommet through your paper and folder the little spikeys down with your bone folder...easy peasy! I tried all sorts of things yesterday with this folder but this was my favorite.
Yeah for Friday....hope you have a super fantastic weekend!

Off Roadin'

Happy Wednesday! I am in such a great mood today...I went and got a pedicure and pedicure day is always a good day!! I think pretty feet are happy feet!!! :) I love the place I go to get my nails done. Tony is fabulous with my nails, Amy is the best pedicure gal ever {she always comes up with super cute, fun and beautiful designs for my big toe} and Jenny does beautiful eyebrow work!!
Anyway...this is a quick card I did the other night. I loved this set the minute I saw it. It reminds me of my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. They are the outdoorsy, camping, jeep drivin', bike riding kinda people and they love dogs....so this screams Tami and Jason!! I decided to practice my water coloring skills...it is a work in progress...I don't know why it's so hard for me but I really struggle with it! This turned out cute but not what I had hoped for. I made this really simple. I added a small dot of crystal effects to the dog's nose to give him that "wet nose" look that dogs have!
Have a super great day and go get a pedicure...you'll feel better!! :)

another acetate card

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We did! It was busy but super fun and then we got to sneak in some relax time today! :) The Katy Rodeo was soooo much fun! I am going to be posting pictures on my family blog soon if you want to take a look.
This is another acetate card I made when I went a little crazy and made a bunch last week! I like this "hey cupcake" sentiment. I wish it was a stamp! These are just rub-ons from the Loop to Loop/Hand Drawn Bundle. The "hey cupcake" it on the acetate and the cupcake image and brad are on the baja breeze paper.
Have a great start to your week tomorrow! Can you believe it's March already? Where does the time go?
