Vintage Grad

Happy, Happy Friday! Happy Mother's Day weekend to me and to all you ladies out there! I started my "weekend" celebrating already! My hubby came home from work early and we went to lunch and a movie before the kids even got home from school! Then he let me take a nap when we got home! Talk about spoiled!! We saw Iron Man 2....so good! :)
These are graduation announcements that I made for a very sweet girl. I made 50 of them. They took some time...but it was sooo worth it! They turned out darling and I think totally reflect who Alleigh is! The main card has the graduation announcement and info. The small pullout has info for the party after that she is having.I found a really cute stamp set at Archivers with different vintage chandeliers. The little swirl things in pink are from the same set. (I have no idea what it's called or the company) I embossed the image in black & added some pink blink to it to make it even cuter!I used my Silhouette to cut out the 2010 on the front! I {heart} my Silhouette! It does so much!
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!! Thanks for stopping in!

Subway Art....my version

For Family Night a few weeks ago (actually it's more like a few months ago, who am I kidding?!)...anyway we all sat down a made a list for each one of the kids and came up with words that described that person. I took the lists and made my own version of "Subway Art" for the kids to hang in their rooms. I thought it would be a fun way for me to be creative and play with my vinyl and also a great keepsake for the kids. They will have a fun reminder of all the great things we thought of them in 2010!
I love how Kailee's turned out. I bought 16x20 canvas and painted it black. I used teal and white vinyl. I am a little bit picky so I spent a ton of time ( I won't even admit to how many hours) getting the image just right. I wanted the fonts to also express Kailee...which I think it does! She loves it and I love it! I have started on Austin's...we'll see how long it takes me to get it done....1 down, 3 to go!
**I also learned that vinyl doesn't stick so well to canvas. So after I got it all on there I painted a layer of modge podge over the whole thing!! {{Also I am pretty impressed with myself...I made the books on there all by myself from scratch!!!}}

Pencils....lots of Pencils!

That's a basket of flowers huh?! :)
There are about 80 different pencil flowers in that basket! Doesn't it look so cool when they are all together! We did a little handout for the ladies in my church and we gave them these pencils and a little notebook. This basket was just to transport them, when we got to the church we had made some cute little vases and put pencils in each one on the tables and those were the centerpieces! I wish I would have remembered my camera to take a picture of those, but it was a crazy night! I used up lots of scrap paper which was great! Even though I spent a ton of nights making these while catching up on some T.V....it was worth it...they turned out sooo cute!
These are the kind of flowers that I can take care of!
Have a wonderful day!

Kailee's vinyl project

So not a stamp craft today...but another vinyl craft! I really do tell the truth when I tell you that the vinyl machine has made my life complete!! :) This is one of the projects Kailee did in her room. I wish I had taken a before pic but I didn't. This was an ugly old sign with a boat on it with an arrow, in ugly colors! Kailee painted it teal, sanded it and antiqued it with a Ralph Lauren Smoke Glaze. (I love that stuff) We sat down and did the vinyl together! The flowers on the wall are from Target. This wall isn't quite finished yet, we have a few more ideas up our sleeves! Didn't it turn out so stinkin' cute! Fits her too!!! :) Have a crafty & fantastic day!

Easter Basket

YES another post!!! I am feeling pretty accomplished! Nothing fancy just a cute little easter basket that I found the directions to on Splitcoast Stampers. The candy didn't last long enough around here to make it into the picture! It was sure cute for the short time it was in there though!
And to my ever so faithful stamp gal Angie....you are awesome! You make me laugh! :)

it's been a while

If there is anyone even still out there who bothers to check this neglected thing!...HI!! I know it's been months! I have just been so busy that capturing pictures and blogging has dropped to the bottom of my to-do list! I also have been so in love with my new vinyl machine that it takes up alot of time now!! I love it...as previously mentioned! :)
I thought I would share a quick card I made though and a simple vinyl project too. I recently held a birthday card class and this was just one of the cards that was offered...a boy and girl version. Super Simple!!My vinyl project is just a simple too and is a cute and fast way to add some fun when decorating for holidays or seasons. Target always has the cutest plates out. I bought these 2 for just a couple of dollars (and they are plastic...so no breaking!!!) I have just made a cute little saying in the vinyl and put it on my plate and your done! So cute huh!
I am selling vinyl too now so if you want or need anything...let me know and I would be happy to help!!!
Have a fantastic day!!

My Vinyl Skills!

Ok...so I mentioned already that I have been so busy I haven't really had time to stamp! (As if you didn't know from the extreme lack of posts) I have been showing you a few of my home decorating projects. Today I have another one for you! I recently felt like my life was missing something! What was missing you ask?... My very own vinyl cutting machine, of course!! I am in love folks! It's the real deal...mushy gushy, no returns for me, already labeled it with my name kinda love!!! It ranks in my Top Ten...right after Shawners, the kids, diet coke and tacos!! So I really haven't had the time to play with it but i have been anyway. (who needs clean clothes or dinner) Who could resist? The kids had a 1/2 day today and so I spent the morning making and putting up this awesomeness in my kitchen! LOVE!!!
Have a super, duper fabulous weekend! The kids and I are going to the Rockets game tonight. Kailee is singing the National Anthem with her choir again this year. Then tomorrow Shawners will be home...after a very long month and half long of travel. (with only a few days home)
Thanks for stopping by!!!

crafty things

Hi!! I wanted to share some of the crafty, non-paper related things I have been up to lately! I decided that I was sick of the yellow in my kitchen and I needed a new color on the walls! So even though that was the original idea...it still isn't quite finished! Of course when I decided that, then all these other ideas started coming to me too! With the help of my good friend Lela I chose a new paint color, 2 actually. Lela suggested doing an accent wall, I love that idea, I was just always too chicken to do it. I picked a creamy caramel type color for the walls and a shade darker for the accent wall. (pics to come soon) Then I thought why not paint the wall where the fireplace is the same as the kitchen walls so it all ties in together! Love how it turned out! Then after talking to another friend of mine I finally felt brave enough to paint my door black. I have wanted to for a long time but again was too chicken. I added a vinyl welcome and I LOVE the way it turned out! Would you believe that I made this?! It was just a plain old piece of wood when I started! Isn't it cool! I have wanted a clock like this for a long time! I finally have it! I love the way this red turned out...it's kinda bright in this picture. It is going to hang in the kitchen on those creamy caramel walls. {hmmm, I just realized that I am calling my walls a creamy caramel, but it's not the stampin' up color...just what it looks like to me!}
thanks for stoppin' in!

BOO!!!!

Did I scare you? I mean it has been eons since I last posted anything! I miss my blogging and my blogging friends!! Life is just busy and unfortunately blogging is one of those things that gets pushed to the bottom of the "to-do" list all the time! Apparently it is frowned upon to completely neglect your children so that you could be at the computer all the time or making cards and crafty things! Whatever!!! ;)
Anyway....here is a "BOO" banner I made. I saw some pictures from convention of a cute one that I wanted to make...so this is my version! I loved using the pennant banner differently than just the typical triangle I had been making all my banners out of. For the BOO letters I just printed out the word in a font I liked and cut it out and added black stickles to it!
I hope you have a wonderful relaxing Sunday!!!
Thank you so much for coming by!

Long Time, No Blog

Hello to all my blogger friends! What a crazy 6 weeks it has been! School starting, I was out of town, 1 week of sick kids, 2 birthdays, an anniversary and a hubby who is out of town for 3 weeks...I have had little time for stamping which is a total bummer!! I think that most of the crazy has died down and I am slowly squeezing in some fun therapy time for myself! I thought I would start out slow and simple. This was a fun idea I found years ago and just thought of it again to do! I made these for my daughter's kindergarten class and filled the bags with popcorn for a party they had. These are so simple the kids could help out in making them. I just used a 1 3/4 in circle punch for the "moon" and some black grosgrain ribbon for the "bats". I am going to be making a bunch of these for Halloween next month!
THANKS for coming by and for being so patient with me!

A Summer Banner

I had to laugh as I started to post this...it is so like me to wait till summer is almost over to show you the banner I made for "summer". Here we are 4 days till school starts and I am just now getting around to taking pics and posting about this!! It has been the busiest summer we have ever had! Fun, but super busy! So forgive me...I really hope to show you the fall one I want to make in the fall, not in like in January or something! :)
I used a Scrap Kit for this banner. I loved the bright colors in the kit and thought they were perfect summery colors. The letters are printed from the computer from one of my fonts. I cut out each one and then glued and glittered section by section....it took forever and I was covered in glitter for about 3 days! It turned out cute though, so it was worth it!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Tomorrow starts our tax-free weekend so the kids and I are getting up early to head out school clothes shopping. We are hoping to avoid some of the crowds by going early! Monday is the day...boy school snuck up on me this year!!!

More Secret Sister Goodies

Origami Box
Candy Treat Boxes (with the twisty ends)
Here are a couple of the other goodies we made for Kailee's secret sister this week at camp. We called the mom and asked her a few questions about what some of the favorites were. She told us any kind of candy that is not chocolate (which is good becuz it wouldn't have survived in this Texas heat!) and that her favorite colors were blue, peach and pink. So we made the Origami Box and filled it with Jolly Ranchers. The twisty boxes are ones that were shown on the demo side of the Stampin' Up! website. If you are interested in the template just email me and I will share it with you! :) The twisty boxes are filled with Skittles and Dum Dums! I made these boxes before...you can check this post to see a picture of the whole thing.
Have a great evening and great day tomorrow! Thanks for coming by!
