Be Mine

Be Mine Valentine! I have been wanting to make banners ever since I saw this die cut way back when! I ordered it right away and then...have I had any time to make a banner?! Nope...not till this week! I am wanting to make one for each season &/or holiday to hang on my mantle! I think this turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself! I used my Candy Lane dsp and some cardstock for the pennants. My letters are from the sticky cut letters (also a must-have that I ordered months ago and am just now using for the first time!) I stuck the letters on vanilla paper and then cut them out and adhered them to the circles. I wanted them to look the same since I was using dazzling diamonds and not have a different look from the different colored circles. After I embellished them up I added riding hood red/vanilla ribbon and hung it up! It really was very easy! It took some time but very easy to put together!! Oh my heavens...I gotta run...time to get the boys from school!...time goes by so fast when I am blogging! :) Have a fabulous day...chat at ya later!

a birdie mailbox

Hello my long lost friends! I feel like it has been forever since I have been able to stamp, blog or do anything else that wasn't related to the Wizard of Oz! The shows were this past weekend and Kailee and Ty did fabulous! The whole show was wonderful...the cast was excellent! Ty loved being a munchkin and I think he has been bitten by the acting bug! He wants to continue to do more plays! There are a couple pictures at the bottom of this post of Kailee and Ty in their munchkin attire!
Alright...on to the crafty schtuff! I know these mailboxes have been made and seen a bajillion times! I made tons when they first became so popular a few years ago! I couldn't resist buying 2 more though when I went to Target and saw them in silver. (I am pretty sure I still have a box of white ones in my closet somewhere) I made this to give as a teacher gift. It can be used year round and not just for Valentines with this cute Good Morning Sunshine dsp. This also gave me a reason to pull out some of my new stuff that has been sitting on my stamp table being neglected! I stamped the bird from the Good Friend stamp set on Pacific Blue paper in versamark ink and embossed it with clear powder. I used apricot and kiwi ribbons. I am excited to fill it full of goodies and send to one of the kids teachers! Our teachers are so wonderful...I feel like I can never do enough to show my gratitude!!!
Have a great start to your week! chat at ya later

A Box full of Goodies

It's 4:00am and I am awake because my crazy daughter who couldn't sleep woke me up playing the Wii. She wasn't being all that loud but her remote gave her away...they like to make noise! I think she has butterflies about her performance today. The first of 5 shows is this morning for the Wizard of Oz.
I wanted to share this fun box I made about a week ago or so. I bought the fabulous tutorial that Becky made! It's worth every penny!! I wanted to make one right away but was limited on my time (see previous paragraph...Wizard of Oz also keeps the mom busy too!) I didn't do any stamping. Instead I broke into my new Loop to Loop Rub-Ons. I love them...I wish they would offer these and the paper from this bundle in the catalog, besides being in the Hostess Set. {sigh} These are just 2 of the 5 cards I made. I also added to the box, York Peppermint Patties, Ghirardelli Chocolates, Hershey Milk Chocolate Sticks with Caramel and decorated address labels for the envelopes that are under the cards. The paper is from the now retired Hostess Bundle. (it wasn't retired when I made the box) I added some 1 inch chocolate ribbon and 2 buttons in the middle to decorate the top of my box.
Ok...I have got to go lay back down and see if I can sleep! I have an hour before me alarm goes off! yikes!

**So many of you asked about my clip art on my baptism cards (a few posts below) The clipart is from a CD I bought 6 or 7 years ago. It's called Primary Partners. I have no idea it's still available but I bet if you look online or at a Dessert Book Store you could find something similar!**

The Cutest Box

Good Sunday evening!!! I hope you have had a great weekend and that if you are as lucky as we are you still have one more day to relax!! Yeah for Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I made this box a few days ago and have taken about a hundred pictures of it...just playing with my new camera! It was my test subject along with Kyler! (he was the only one who would let me keep flashing at him!) I get absolutely no credit for this box! I 100%, completely cased this from Jenn at Stamp Your Heart Out. {see hers here----->wish box} Is she not fabulous?! I love her craftiness! I had some of the same paper left over from my Country Living Kit and needed a box for a gift so I thought it was the perfect way to use it up! {THANKS Jenn for your awesomeness!!}
gotta run...gonna spend some time with Shawners!!

It's great to be 8!

As promised...snapped a few pictures!! I am so in love with my camera...it might be a little bit wrong! I am sooo excited thinking about the awesome pictures I am going to be able to get of Kailee and Tyson in their Wizard of Oz performances next week!!! I am also excited to take more pictures of the things I have been working on!
Alrightee then...on to these invites. In our church the children are baptized when they are 8 yrs old. We wait till the child is 8 because we believe it is the age of accountability. At the beginning of every year we invite all the kids who will be turning 8 this year to a Baptism Preview. We talk about baptism, what it means, answer questions, things like that. These are the invites I made for the kids and their parents. I made some pink ones for the girls and blue ones for the boys. I think they turned out cute. The image is from some clipart I printed off my computer. I used the retired Crew Girl and Crew Boy Scrap Kit papers.
Oh my heavens...it's 11:30! I have to be up early tomorrow...chat at ya later!
Thanks for coming by!
what's in it?...
paper...pretty in pink, bashful blue, basic gray pumpkin pie, regal rose, wild wasabi, Crew Kids Srap Kit dsp, white

ink...pretty in pink, bashful blue

accessories...pewter brads, rose ribbon, orange stripped ribbon

other...computer clipart, dimensionals, distresser, circle punches

and the winner is....

...a Nikon D40!!! I love my new camera! I can't wait to start playing with it! I decided to get the same kind as Exxon. Shawn brought his work camera home so I could look at it a little and see how the fancy pants cameras work. After going to the store and testing many, many cameras...I decided this was the one I wanted! I figured if Exxon uses this to take pictures of rocks and relies on the pictures to tell them where to find the oil...then it would work for my card and kid pictures too!! :)
I hope to get some pics of what I have been working on and share something later tonight or tomorrow morning!

Stationary Box

First things first...THANK YOU to all of you who gave your input on cameras!! It has been a huge help!! I am super excited to go get one...I am going in the next couple of days to get one. I have been doing all sorts of research online. Now it's time to go try the ones I like. Shawn was a huge help...he brought home one of his fancy pants cameras home from work and let me look at it and take a few pics (see photos above) to see what I liked and didn't like! As of now I think I am going with a Canon Rebel XS...Costco has the best deal right now! I know you will all be anxious to hear what I get...so I will update you soon!
Alright...post details! I first saw this on my friend Tiffany's blog. Then when I started looking around on Splitcoast I found tons! I found a few sets of directions there...I used pieces of a few to make this one. Here is a link to make the box...Jackie Topa's directions are fab! This is for a special friend of mine! I hope she will like it! I used the Crew Girl Simply Scrappin' Kit. My "notes, tags, birthday and stamps" words were just printed on my computer and then I punched them out with an oval punch. Inside are 6 cards with envelopes, 4 3x3 note cards with envelopes, 5 tags, a birthday book (each page has a month on it so you can keep track of birthdays throughout the year) and a place for stamps of course...oh and a pen. I attached my birthday book with velcro so that it can be removed easily for use but have a stable place to be stored.
Thanks for being patient with me...Have a fabulous, stampalicious day!!!

Time to say Goodbye!

I think my camera has bit the big one! I have been trying to revive it...but to no avail! It has sentenced itself to a life with forever pink tinted (and now blurred) photos! If you happen to be in the market for that kind of camera...let me know I have a deal for you! ;)
So...I know that there are lots of you out there that have fabulous cameras and I thought why not go to the best resource I have! I have a few ideas of what I want but I would love it if you would leave some comments and tell me what camera you have that you love! (or which camera your friend has that you love!!) What is the best? What is the best deal for the money? Best place to purchase? Any and all information you want to share would be awesome!!!
THANKS...all ya'll are so great!! I can't wait to hear what you have to say!! Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Happy New Year

Well...where to start? First let me say THANKS for all the kind comments and get well wishes! I am finally feeling better and my ears finally popped just 2 days ago!! It is wonderful to hear normally again and NOT hear myself chew! I soooo enjoyed my quiet time while Shawn and the boys were away! I ended up not stamping very much! I cleaned my house from top to bottom the first day...I know, not really fun but it felt sooo good to get it done and be in a clean house that wasn't immediately being messed up by little kiddos! Then I watched some movies, laid around in my jammies, did some shopping and did a little crafting on the last day! I took some pictures but they didn't turn out...which brings me to my next thing, the reason I have posted so little! My camera is dying! It is dying a slow death. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't...when it isn't working I get pink tinted pictures.
I did get these pictures this morning and they aren't too horrible. These were gift card holders I made for my brother and his wife for Christmas. I found the idea on Andrea's blog. It slides open to the side and the gift card holder is on the inside...I didn't get pictures of the inside cuz my camera quit working! When Kailee went to Seattle she called me one day and said "Mom, Aaron left his gift card holder here!" I said "Oh good bring it home with you...I forgot to take pictures and now I can post them and hang them on my board!!" Otherwise they would have been in the garbage!
Anyway...I did spend most of today stamping and so I am crossing my fingers that my pictures will turn out and I will have something new to share tomorrow! I have been chatting for long enough! Have a good rest of your Tuesday!
