Tagged!...& a Tart and Tangy set

Hi....another post today...aren't you all lucky ducks! I was tagged forever ago by 2 fabulous ladies...I have just been too big a slacker in responding and forwarding the honors to some other deserving gals!! So a super duper big to Angel & Tonya for taggin me! Check out their awesome blogs...they are talented ladies!! Ok...since my brain isn't fully functioning today...instead of sharing some random things about me...I am going to share the fun cards I made using the tart & tangy set! I was inspired by Andrea...I love this paper and this set! I made these really super simple and really super fast! These have no sentiments on them so I can use them for whatever I need! I made this box on my own...I don't have a template...to be honest I don't remember what I did...it didn't turn out how I wanted it to though...the bottom has a hole in it and it really only looks good from the front...so I am gonna have to do some tweaking and then hopefully I can share my directions....{{warning: don't hold your breath waiting for me to get that done though!!!}}
before the card recipe...here are the super talented, super stampalicious ladies I am tagging! Angie, Roxy, Tiffany, Penny & Nancywhat's in it?...

a PP challenge!!

This is a card I made for Thursday challenge of Ways To Use It...it was a little tricky for me! I really had to struggle to make this and I am still not really sure I am loving it! You had to use only patterned paper...the only plain piece could be the card base!...you aren't supposed to even use any plain white! So here is what I did... I used my Jersey Shore paper. I used all my circle punches and cut out a bunch of the flowery sunburst type images from the paper. I colored in some of them with my blender pens. I backed them with the scallop punch which I punched and then turned the scallop slightly and punched again to get the pointed edges to match the image! {confused yet} I then added eyelets and brads to the centers. As I was starting to put the card together it reminded me of a bunch of gears...anyway...here is the card! Not my favorite but I do love the paper so it has grown on me a little since I made it! :) {sorry he lighting isn't great in this picture...it was cloudy and rainy outside!} Thanks for checkin' in! Have a fabulous weekend!

WOW....that's all I can say...WOW!!!

...can you believe the talent that is out there? Sometimes I just forget what talented ladies there are in the crafting world!! I was so excited when I stumbled upon this darling little purse! Jan Tink as she is known to some, is amazing!!!!!!! She thought this cute little thing up and created it and shared it on her blog! Of course I jumped on that and wanted to make one for myself! I have only finished the front so far...I am about halfway through the inside...I was just too excited to show this to you to wait for the whole thing to be done! So I looked at hers...then went to work making my own last night...then when I finished my front I went back to look at Jan's again to see her inside and oops....I made my front almost exactly the same as hers! Well...I didn't intend to totally copy it exactly but it is what it is....I am just excited that mine will be as cute as hers! :) So THANKS to Jan for sharing her creativity with the rest of us who can't seem to tap into that part of our brains...{or maybe I should just say, Thanks from me....I can't seem to tap into that part of the brain...seriously?! Where is that part? How do I get there?...and is there a key or a password or a special jig I have to dance to enter?... I know, I know, I am creative I have made some cute things...I'll admit that but the thinking things up is not my thing! I have sat and thought...hmmm what could I do that hasn't been done? What would be cute? I look at all the stuff at my table and then I sit for so long and get nowhere that I give up...mostly cuz the smoke coming out of my ears from brain overload scares my kids and the smoke alarm is dangerously close to going off!! So I go to my computer and look for some inspiration! I can't tell you how long I looked at those Carousel Notes and tried to figure out something cute to do with them!}
Oh well...That's why I am gushing about Jan today and all the other talented ladies out there who I case!! {I love that word, sounds so much better than copy!!} Thanks for the inspiration...for the great ideas and thinking the stuff up...my family thanks you too...I don't think I would be much good to them with a fried brain!
Ok...I gotta go...lots to do...my quick post turned into a long one...and although some of you might think I am crazy...I amused myself and had a good chuckle while writing this! :) ...cuz seriously...it's all very true!

a card for wednesday

I finally got a chance to stamp just because for a minute this afternoon!! I have had so many projects to do that I haven't had much time to stamp just cuz for a while! I did the sketch challenge at Splitcoast. This was a different one for me...probably not one I would have ever done on my own but since the challenge was there...I took it! I think it turned out ok! I don't have the stamp set that coordinates with this gorgeous paper so I decided not to stamp and just use paper. I cut out a flower from the paper with my circle punch. I also cut out a leaf and a butterfly. I added 3 brads to the middle of the flower and then covered the flower with crystal effects. I used my new color spritzer too but it's hard to tell. I used it one the guava paper...it's a fun tool to use...I am gonna have to play more with this one! I was gonna be brave and try sewing on this card cuz I got the mini sewing machine that is all the rage this weekend...but then I wimped out cuz the card was turning out good and I didn't want to mess it up!!
Anyway...have a wonderful Wednesday...I am waiting for Mr. Brown to come!!

Happy Birthday Kyler!!!

6 months old

1 yr old
2 yrs old
3 yrs old
4 yrs old
5 yrs old

My baby turned 5 today!!! I can't believe he is 5...it seems like he was just born!! :) What a sweet addition to our family he has been! I can't even begin to imagine our lives without Kyler. He is such a fun little boy! He is all about having fun....it doesn't matter what's going on...he turns it into fun. He loves to smile and laugh and I am grateful for that because he can always make us smile no matter what the mood might be! He loves to color and draw, write his name, the ABC's & 123's, he likes to listen to music and dance with me around the house or rock out in the car when we are running errands! He loves to play with his big brothers and he loves when Kailee tucks him in at night! He loves to say I love you and tries to "out love" you....like "I love you a billion plus one!" or "I love you infinity plus the last number there is!" Kyler is the best! Anyone that knows him knows what a special little guy he is!! Happy Birthday to my Kyler Jake!! :)

playin' around

We had a busy but very productive weekend...so not alot of stamping was done! I have also been working on a lot of other projects so I haven't had alot of time for playing around and posting! Last night though I sat down to play a little with a few of the new things I got last week. One of the things in my order was this gorgeous Afternoon Tea paper! I love it...every sheet! It's so pretty! I made a simple 5 1/4 in. square card. I used this darling little bird from Stampendous. I used my Three for You punch to give him a bigger flower and stuck a brad in the middle. I dotted all the middles of the flowers with diamond stickles. That's about it...pretty simple!
Have a fantastic Monday...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU all you gals who come by to check out my little 'ol blog and for all the sweet comments!!

double blast off

Ok...so I have been so excited to sit down and play with my new paper!!! I went to Archiver's the other morning and when I walked in there was a big display of new Cosmo Cricket paper!!! YIPPEE!! It's the new Robot themed paper Cogsmo! So with robot paper I had to use the spaceship again from Pun Fun...it's just too cute! It was one of the reasons I got the set! Anyway...the paper matches SU colors perfectly and the combo of colors are terrific!!! I used my blender pens and ink pads to color the images. I used only 2 of the papers from this set...{don't worry just give me time I will get them all used}...'bandwiths' and 'links'. Oh and the layout was from todays Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast.
Have a great day still!

butterfly card

Here is a card I made for this weeks color challenge at Splitcoast....wild wasabi, purely pomegranate, so saffron. Great colors but I thought it needed a little chocolate too! Everything is always better with chocolate right?!! I used this little butterfly from the Garden Whimsy set. I used my giga scallop punch, which I love and don't use nearly enough. I took the little dot in the Three for You set and made the dots in the scallops of the circle. I added the little bugs in the corner...cuz they are adorable! Have a wonderful Wednesday!!! The weather is gorgeous today...so we are going to enjoy some time outside & take advantage before it turns on us again!

a carousal note

Hello...here at my house it is sooo cold and windy! Yesterday I went to Walmart, I was only in there for a 1/2 hour and by the time I got back out to my car the temp. had dropped over 20 degrees to about 50 and it was pouring rain and the wind was blowing hard...it was hard to hang on to my umbrella! I almost flew away just like those little old ladies on Mary Poppins! Anyway...it's been that way ever since! So guess what I got to do...yep, stamp. It was too miserable to be outside running errands so after I had lunch with Tyson I got a little stamp time in! I made my very first carousal note. I have had these for almost a month and I have been a little afraid to use them...they are so cute that I didn't want to mess them up!! I needed to make a birthday card for my sister so I thought I would give one of these a whirl. These carousal notes are just a front and back, they don't open up. You can find them in the Occasions Mini catalog from Stampin' Up! I have to say they are so darling and super fun to work with...I had fun making this one and once I got going I had lots of ideas poppin' into my head!
Have a fantastic day!!

yummy carrot treats!

A quick post to share with you...some treats that I am making for the kids teachers. I am going to give them to the teachers before they head off to Spring Break just to say "thanks" and have a good break...Teachers can never have enough Thank Yous if you ask me...so I am always trying to come up with little things to send with the kiddos to school! These are so super easy!!! I mean super, duper easy...I used the disposable icing bags and cut them down a little {you could leave them big and just fill it with more candy} I punched a scallop and tied it with ribbon! See...EASY! I didn't come up with the idea though...I got this great idea from Lauren, check out her blog here. I'm not really the idea kinda girl...I have just become great at casing!!!
OK..before I say goodnight...I have to tell you that MICHAEL BUBLE IS FABULOUS!!! That doesn't even come close to the realm of explaining how great!!! That voice is to die for and boy...can he entertain!!! Shawners gave me the tickets for Valentine's Day so it was a "this is more for you than for me gift" and he was awesome to come with me!! {of course he was not the only one in that boat last night though} Shawn enjoyed himself...the guy can sing and he can entertain a crowd...he was sympathetic to the guys who were dragged there! It was pretty funny!...some of the innuendos that were made about how the guys would thanking him later that night! Anyway....HE WAS AWESOME!! I can't wait to go see him again! If you have the chance to go...I strongly urge you to do so!! You will not regret it!!! Also...the opening group was called Naturally 7...I can't even do justice in explaining how talented they are...they do everything with their voices...no music..it's incredible...you have to check them out and take a listen!! Click here to see their YouTube video.
