Whale of a Birthday

No time to blog about anything this morning...I am headed out the door {should've been 2 minutes ago} to go on a field trip with Kyler and his class. We are going to Dewberry Farms. Have a fantastic day!!!

I am home from the field trip and I am exhausted! I had 4 very active little boys in my group that ran from one thing to the next and I had to keep up with them! It was a lot of fun though...I wish I could take some of that 6 yr. old energy and bottle it up for myself! :)

A birthday tote

Today the kids are home from school...we got sooo much rain last night that the flooding was insane. School is canceled and the kids get a freebie! Shawn and I woke up about 3:45 to look outside cuz the thunder and hail was so loud. The water was half way up our yard. It's all gone now but some people in the Houston area weren't so lucky and they are dealing with much worse!
Here is a birthday tote I made to show my stamp club girls. I was really excited when I saw this idea...I have hardly used my basket die cut. I was glad for a reason to try something new with it! I love this birthday paper...I am almost out, I don't know what I will do when it's gone! {sniff, sniff} Here is a link to the tutorial I found for these totes. I backed my dsp with cardstock so it would be sturdier. I didn't have a chance to fill this up yet...but I will when I decide who it's going to.
Have a great and hopefully dry day! ;)

Fabulous Topiary

Just a quick post for today...I am ridiculously behind in all the things I need to get done. Despite being behind here I sit at the computer blogging! :) {sheepish grin here} This was just a simple card I made to play with my new Blooming with Love set that I got a few weeks ago. I have had fun playing with it and trying to color the terra cotta pot. I feel like that tiny little thing is about all I can handle when it comes to coloring something realistically with that light spot hitting it! :)
It's raining so hard right now...I am gonna go do some of my stuff and listen to the thunder and rain!

Choo, Choo....

Here is another one of the cards I made Friday. This one was fun. It took way too long for this little thing....but it was still fun to make! I colored each image with markers and stamped on white cardstock. I cut out each train car and adhered it with dimensionals. I rolled the track in close to cocoa. After cutting all the train cars I didn't feel like cutting out the little puffs of black smoke so I punched them out with my 1/2 in. circle punch. Once I got all the cars on, there wasn't really room for anything else so I added some olive ribbon and I was done!
Have a nice rest of your Sunday...hope you are getting to relax a little before the week starts!

Birds

I actually found some stamping time yesterday...truth be told I stamped all day! I think I found a little of my mojo that had left me! I was getting ready for my Stamp Club and I just started stamping all sorts of cards! I had so much fun...I haven't done random cards for a long time!! This one was the first one I did and I needed a starting point. I cased a card from the catalog. {I don't remember the page #...but it's next to the Zoofari set} I wanted to try out my new wheel guide. I finally broke down and got one because I never use my wheels...why you ask?...cuz I can never get them straight! I don't know why I didn't get one years ago! It's wonderful! {it's great for my OCD and my need to have it be perfect!} I stamped the birds in black Staz-On and colored with my blender pens and ink pads. I crumpled & ripped paper {very therapeutic}, added some ribbon and brads and card #one was done! :) I liked how it turned out so well this ended up being the make and take at Stamp Club.
I am excited to be able to have things to share with you this week! Thanks for coming by! Have a great weekend! chat at ya later...

Sympathy Card

Good Wednesday Afternoon!!!
This is my very first sympathy card I have ever made. Unfortunately I have needed them in the past but I never wanted to make one. I always felt more comfortable letting Hallmark do it! I decided to just bite the bullet and get the Thoughts and Prayers set. I loved all the sentiments and the tree is one of my favorite images! This came together quicker and easier than I thought it would. I wish I didn't need these in my stash...but I do so I guess I will be making a few more. I colored the tree with my chocolate chip and mellow moss markers. I was super impressed with myself after I was finished the card I realized I am capable of making a card that looks nice without ribbon! I didn't know it could be done! ;)
Have a fabulous day!! chat at ya later!

Spring Banner

Hello! I am finally able to post something! My computer decided to go all haywire on me. I couldn't open some of my files...some things were lost...I couldn't download my pictures. It's been a major headache! We are slowly getting things fixed...I think we figured out the problem. (when I say we, I mean my hubby...I just sat next to him pretty useless while he fixed it!)
I started this banner back at the beginning of March. (embarrassing, I know) I was so excited to use the Walk in the Park dsp. I finally finished and hung the banner yesterday! I love the way it turned out! The chipboard birds and branches are soooo cute! I used Summer Love Rub-Ons and the Great Friend stamp set. I inked all the edges in chocolate chip. After I started putting it together I wasn't sure that grey paper was really saying "spring" but after it was all finished I really love it! I love the different color combo! :) I am really having fun making banners for the different holidays and seasons. It's been a great way for me to use up some of that paper I end up hoarding! I am getting a little better!
Anyway...hope you like it! Thanks for lookin'! Have a super Monday and hope your week starts out wonderful!!...chat at ya later!

A Tote-ally Awesome Tote of my own

I have said it before and I will say it again! Miss Becky is amazing!!! I know you have to have seen these totes floating around out there. She came up with this...I just changed the paper on this one to make it my own. I love her tutorials...they are easy to follow and a super great deal!! I didn't have alot of time to take pictures...so these aren't the best. {sorry} I had to get this in the mail. I decided to leave the clear inserts out of the inside of the box. I filled it with yellow shred and put a gift inside. It's for a special someone...they will see when it gets to them in the mail. :) The front pockets have chocolate and lip gloss in them. For my closure I used a build-a-brad and my scallop oval punch. I also used magnets to close the tote instead of velcro. It works fantastic!
Thanks for coming by! Sorry it's been slow posting over here. We have been so busy that I am just not finding time to sit and stamp just cuz. I have been getting ready for 3 classes I have this weekend and next week. Thanks for being patient and stickin' with me!! :)
Have a super fantabulous day!

Wheelbarrow of trees

Happy Friday and Happy 4 day weekend to us. The kids are out today and Monday for a long Easter weekend. We are leaving in about 20 minutes to go see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D. I know you will all be anxiously holding your breath waiting for that review. ;) Kyler has his first soccer game tomorrow and then there is some running around here and there for kids that needs to be done...Easter on Sunday...and Monday we will play by ear after we see how the kids are holding up after all the sugar from egg hunts and bunny goodies!
This is a card I made last weekend. I am loving this set the more I use it. There isn't a whole lot to tell that you can see from looking at the picture.
I hope that you have a super Happy Easter Weekend!!!

Spilled Dirt

Good Monday Morning! I hope that you enjoyed your weekend! The weather here was absolutely gorgeous and we were able to just relax all weekend! No schedule to keep....that is almost unheard of for us, so it was really nice! :)
I had some time to play with some new goodies I got Friday afternoon. This is one of the cards I made. I am having fun with this set and "masking". It's a technique that has been around forever...but some sets just lend themselves better than others to this. I felt especially creative when I decided to make one of the pots 'tip' over and spill out the dirt. That just seemed appropriate to how I plant flowers! Always a mess! :)
I hope you have a super fabulous Monday and great start to your week!

Easter Basket

Here is yet another copy from another super duper talented lady! Monica at Monica's Passions. She makes super cute things and I always love her bright, bold colors! She has a video on how to make this darling little basket. I had candy in it but it was eaten by my kiddos way before I got the picture was taken. I really love this basket and it is super simple. I am going to be making some of these for a few little easter treats for some special gals on my list! :)
Have a fabulous weekend! We are going to enjoy the gorgeous weather we have. I will also be working on getting Kyler feeling better...he has tonsillitis. I had some new goodies come yesterday so I am going to find some time this weekend to do a little stampin'!

another copy

I told you lots of copies this week! ;) This one is from the new Occasions Mini Catalog that came out today! This card is on the front cover. I am loving the rub-on cards with transparency sheets! They are such cool cards...but super simple and super quick! These cute rub-ons are in the mini catalog...Summer Love Rub-Ons.
A non-stamping moment! Did any of you see American Idol last night? The kids and I love to sit and watch together! {Actually I started making them fold their laundry while we watched...it's great, all the laundry gets done and no one complains too much cuz they all want to watch! I just gotta figure out how to get laundry done when the season ends!} Anyway....I have a couple of favorites on there...Megan is one of them...but last night was not good! As she was finished singing Kailee said, "She sounded like a goat!" :) {thought that was too funny...and she kinda did!}
thanks for all the super sweet comments you have left!

Copy Cat Basket

Hello...Happy Monday! How has your week started? Mine was exciting...I popped on over to Nancy's blog to check out her Ipicks and imagine my surprise when I saw that my Rolodex Birthday Reminder {see post below} was one of her picks! That was a fun start to the week...I love seeing Nancy's picks! Thanks Nancy!! :)
This basket is a total copy cat of the one that MJ Albright did. That girl is amazing! I had just barely gotten my top note and scallop envelope die in the mail when she posted her basket and I wanted to try one too! {a little side note...check out the boat pop up card that MJ made it is sooo cute! } This week I am going to be sharing a lot of copy cat projects I have done over the past month. I have been quite busy with a couple of banner projects {I will be able to show you soon} so I haven't made anything new in a couple weeks!
Thanks for stopping by...chat at ya later!

Rolodex birthdays

I am here, I am here, I am here {can you hear the chant from 'Horton Hears a Who' when the "Who's" are trying to be heard on the speck!} I can't believe how much time has passed since I last posted anything! I am just being way too busy with responsible things...I need to be a better blogger! :) This last week was spring break for my kids so I was busy playing the part of entertainer for the week. I think we will finally be getting back to our normal routine and hopefully that will include some major stamping time for me!
Remember way back in this post when I labeled it sneak peek and then didn't follow up! I know it's embarrassingly late but that's about my life these days! So here is what I made. For a really long time I have wanted a better way to remember birthdays. The books and calendars just weren't cuttin' it for me! So I decided to make my own rolodex. I love this idea for 2 reasons...one because I thought of it all on my own. After making it I have seen that others thought of it too but I am proud to say before I went searching and saw anyone else's work I thought this one up in my very own head!!! :) The second reason is cuz it is soooo handy for me. I can slip new names in there without having to squeeze it in on a calendar or do any crossing out or erasing!! I keep it out on my stamp table so that it is accessible and I can check it at the beginning of every month and know what I need! I found the super cute paper at Joann's and just cut out some of the cute images for each month. I kept this simple cuz I knew it would get a lot of use with me flipping through. I also found a super cool rolodex punch at Office Max!
I hope that you have had a fantastic weekend and have a great start to your week!

A banner for Kyler

Yesterday was Kyler's birthday...my baby is 6 I can hardly believe it! Time goes by waaayyyy too fast! I made him a special birthday banner. Instead of doing Happy Birthday, I did his name so he can hang it on his bedroom wall when it finally comes off the the mantle. He loved it! I used the Cosmo Cricket Robot paper I have. I bought a ton of it when it first came out....it is great boy paper! :) The letters are chipboard with white craft ink and some white fun flock on it. It turned out cute and was pretty fast to put together...I did the whole thing yesterday afternoon.
Have a great day and weekend! I am going with some friends to a hotel and a girls weekend tomorrow and Saturday. I can't wait...it will be so fun to have some fun girl time! :)
