another one...

So this is another card just like the last one but with a different color combo. I used Soft Sky and Not Quite Navy...I love the 2 together. The flowers were done in Purley Pomeganate. I really like this card...I may just make a bunch using all different color combos and see which ends up being my favorite.

Baroque Motifs

Ok so it's been a busy week and I haven't been able to do alot of stamping!! I have to attend to my kiddos every once in a while! :) j/k This is a set that will be in Stampin' Up!'s new Fall/Winter Catalog. I didn't like it at first...also it's not really me...I'm not a fancy person and this seemed fancy to me. After seeing so many cute things done with it though I caved! I guess you have to venture out occasionally & try something new. I used Always Atrichoke & River Rock paper. I stamped the fancy swirly thing in artichoke & again in river rock, a little off set so it looks like a shadow. I used Purely Pomegranate for the flowers. I used a few brads to add a little umph... I took a bunch of ideas I saw on Splitcoast & came up with this one...there was one card in particular I was thinking of...can't remeber who did it...but she did a fabulous job!! :) Thanks to someone out there! I know I will be playing with this one alot now...so excpect to to see a few more ideas with this one!

A happy card

I have a few pics to post this morning. I was able to sit down and get a few cards done for my open house this week...in between all the cleaning and getting ready for a goodbye party for our good frineds who are moving to Seattle! :( Actually it's a see ya later...not a goodbye. We will be visiting them for sure! I will say, among all the -I can't beleive it's really here & you are moving tomorrow trying to be brave & not cry moments- the night was a hit. We had a chocolate fountain! It was yummy...had I not been so busy hostessing then I would've remembered to take a pic. Oh well...it was so fun that I think I am going to do it for my open house too...so I will remember then!

flowers even I can't kill!!

I made these with the big blossom stamp from the Sell-a-bration catalog. I had so much fun making my bouquet! Even I can't kill these ones...just a little dusting every now and again! This was the first embossing project for me too....since then I have been hooked! Love embossing!

just because

I love this flower and the paper. I am excited about the Designer Series paper coming out in the new catalog....the patterns are so darling and colors are great!! This flower is from the office accoutrement set in the mini catalog...I bought it just for the flower cause it's so cute!!

A flowery birthday wish

Just another card...still playing with all the new sets I got...this one is called Pick a Petal and it's so darling. You can make tons of unique flowers. I love this color combo too!!

crackin' good fun

I am always impressed when I can figure out a new technique by myself w/o my Tiff. to walk me through it!! This one is called cracked glass...it was fun to do! You stamp your image & emboss it a few times with thick embossing powder, then throw it in the freezer...easy! Then when it's good and cold you bend it till it cracks in all the right places. I did quite a few cards after I figured it all out....I liked this one cuz it's fallish! And I am ready for it already!!

More from late night stamping

If I had to guess...I suspect alot of my posts could be titled late night stamping...since that's when I do it! I will have to think about that...we'll find out if I can be creative with the cards and with titles all at the same time!! I love this stamp set!! It's going to be a hostess set in the new catalog. I love the dots...they make is so cute!

Late Night Stamping

So here is the first of what are sure to be lots of new things since the new SU catalog is just around the corner!! I waited for the UPS man all day and when he finally got here with all my new stuff...I had to make dinner, get the kids ready for swimming with dad & get ready for the basketball game cuz I had girls coming over!....so my 'playtime' had to wait. {FYI...the Spurs won tonight...I have been cheering for them & I was cheering for the Cavaliers over the Pistons. So since both teams I was cheering for are playing I think I am taking a middle ground and hoping that it's an exciting series that goes all 7 games!!} Anyway...after the game I was able to sit down and stamp and I just had to get this one up before I went to bed!!

My first post

Ok...so I am new to this whole blogging thing and I am finding that it is more involved than I thought. I am really good at looking at other people's blogs and getting some great ideas...but creating my own is proving a little more challenging! Soooo after some convincing from a few good friends I decided I should give it a whirl...who doesn't love a good challenge? I hope that my few ideas will inspire others the way I have been inspired by so many!! :) This card was made for a friend, but I think now I will "give it" to myself as a pat on the back for figuring out the blogging thing!! Good for U, Tara!
