My Vinyl Skills! I mentioned already that I have been so busy I haven't really had time to stamp! (As if you didn't know from the extreme lack of posts) I have been showing you a few of my home decorating projects. Today I have another one for you! I recently felt like my life was missing something! What was missing you ask?... My very own vinyl cutting machine, of course!! I am in love folks! It's the real deal...mushy gushy, no returns for me, already labeled it with my name kinda love!!! It ranks in my Top Ten...right after Shawners, the kids, diet coke and tacos!! So I really haven't had the time to play with it but i have been anyway. (who needs clean clothes or dinner) Who could resist? The kids had a 1/2 day today and so I spent the morning making and putting up this awesomeness in my kitchen! LOVE!!!
Have a super, duper fabulous weekend! The kids and I are going to the Rockets game tonight. Kailee is singing the National Anthem with her choir again this year. Then tomorrow Shawners will be home...after a very long month and half long of travel. (with only a few days home)
Thanks for stopping by!!!

crafty things

Hi!! I wanted to share some of the crafty, non-paper related things I have been up to lately! I decided that I was sick of the yellow in my kitchen and I needed a new color on the walls! So even though that was the original still isn't quite finished! Of course when I decided that, then all these other ideas started coming to me too! With the help of my good friend Lela I chose a new paint color, 2 actually. Lela suggested doing an accent wall, I love that idea, I was just always too chicken to do it. I picked a creamy caramel type color for the walls and a shade darker for the accent wall. (pics to come soon) Then I thought why not paint the wall where the fireplace is the same as the kitchen walls so it all ties in together! Love how it turned out! Then after talking to another friend of mine I finally felt brave enough to paint my door black. I have wanted to for a long time but again was too chicken. I added a vinyl welcome and I LOVE the way it turned out! Would you believe that I made this?! It was just a plain old piece of wood when I started! Isn't it cool! I have wanted a clock like this for a long time! I finally have it! I love the way this red turned's kinda bright in this picture. It is going to hang in the kitchen on those creamy caramel walls. {hmmm, I just realized that I am calling my walls a creamy caramel, but it's not the stampin' up color...just what it looks like to me!}
thanks for stoppin' in!

Did I scare you? I mean it has been eons since I last posted anything! I miss my blogging and my blogging friends!! Life is just busy and unfortunately blogging is one of those things that gets pushed to the bottom of the "to-do" list all the time! Apparently it is frowned upon to completely neglect your children so that you could be at the computer all the time or making cards and crafty things! Whatever!!! ;) is a "BOO" banner I made. I saw some pictures from convention of a cute one that I wanted to this is my version! I loved using the pennant banner differently than just the typical triangle I had been making all my banners out of. For the BOO letters I just printed out the word in a font I liked and cut it out and added black stickles to it!
I hope you have a wonderful relaxing Sunday!!!
Thank you so much for coming by!

Long Time, No Blog

Hello to all my blogger friends! What a crazy 6 weeks it has been! School starting, I was out of town, 1 week of sick kids, 2 birthdays, an anniversary and a hubby who is out of town for 3 weeks...I have had little time for stamping which is a total bummer!! I think that most of the crazy has died down and I am slowly squeezing in some fun therapy time for myself! I thought I would start out slow and simple. This was a fun idea I found years ago and just thought of it again to do! I made these for my daughter's kindergarten class and filled the bags with popcorn for a party they had. These are so simple the kids could help out in making them. I just used a 1 3/4 in circle punch for the "moon" and some black grosgrain ribbon for the "bats". I am going to be making a bunch of these for Halloween next month!
THANKS for coming by and for being so patient with me!

A Summer Banner

I had to laugh as I started to post is so like me to wait till summer is almost over to show you the banner I made for "summer". Here we are 4 days till school starts and I am just now getting around to taking pics and posting about this!! It has been the busiest summer we have ever had! Fun, but super busy! So forgive me...I really hope to show you the fall one I want to make in the fall, not in like in January or something! :)
I used a Scrap Kit for this banner. I loved the bright colors in the kit and thought they were perfect summery colors. The letters are printed from the computer from one of my fonts. I cut out each one and then glued and glittered section by took forever and I was covered in glitter for about 3 days! It turned out cute though, so it was worth it!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Tomorrow starts our tax-free weekend so the kids and I are getting up early to head out school clothes shopping. We are hoping to avoid some of the crowds by going early! Monday is the day...boy school snuck up on me this year!!!

More Secret Sister Goodies

Origami Box
Candy Treat Boxes (with the twisty ends)
Here are a couple of the other goodies we made for Kailee's secret sister this week at camp. We called the mom and asked her a few questions about what some of the favorites were. She told us any kind of candy that is not chocolate (which is good becuz it wouldn't have survived in this Texas heat!) and that her favorite colors were blue, peach and pink. So we made the Origami Box and filled it with Jolly Ranchers. The twisty boxes are ones that were shown on the demo side of the Stampin' Up! website. If you are interested in the template just email me and I will share it with you! :) The twisty boxes are filled with Skittles and Dum Dums! I made these boxes can check this post to see a picture of the whole thing.
Have a great evening and great day tomorrow! Thanks for coming by!

Pencil Flowers

Hey's been a while! No good excuse just the same old story...busy, busy, busy! Shawners is gone this week in Puerto Rico (tough job huh?), Kailee is going to be at Girls Camp this week and so it will just be me and the boys! On Friday my mom, dad, sister and niece will all be here. They are visiting from Seattle! I can't wait till they get here and then for Kailee and Shawn to get home this weekend! I have some fun things planned! :)
At Girls Camp, all the girls are given a secret sister. Kailee has to leave 4 little gifts for her "secret sister" throughout the week. This is so fun to do...there is a $5.00 limit. I love that cuz then we have to be super creative to think of some fun things! This is one of the gifts we made. We used a little vase I have had sitting in my "had to have and couldn't leave the store without it and now it's collecting dust on a shelf" stash! We used the Kaleidoscope dsp. After the pencils were done we finished the vase off with an "S" for her name.
Gotta run...I am taking Austin to see Transformers 2, he still hasn't seen it yet and I told him I would take him since I know he will be a huge help to me this week as the "Man of the House"! :)
Hope you have a great at ya later!

Thank U

Good Monday Morning! I was up early today...trying to get myself back into that school routine! I have to say that I think I hate waking up early more than the kids do! I love my summertime sleeping in days! Tyson is at Science Camp this week so it helps that I have to be up and ready to take him...I needed a little push to help get me back to the routine!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! This is a card that I just love! It uses a old set but I haven't been able to part with it! I just love the giant "U". This was one of the first sets I bought when I started stamping and this card layout is one that I cased from a friend and love to use! I have used it alot over the years if I am feeling stuck. It shows off the gorgeous dsp used and it's a simple one to make! I did the 'rock 'n' roll' technique on the U. That is a fun one too!

Medallion beauty

Isn't this gorgeous...if I do say so myself?!! I LOVE this medallion stamp and when I got my new catalog this was the one stamp I just HAD to have! It wasn't even a want...I needed it! ;) This was a very simple card but I think it is also quite elegant looking. I stamped the medallion in crushed curry on vanilla paper. Then I spritzed it with close to cocoa. Last thing was to add a build-a-brad to the center. I made 5 of these in about 10 or 15 minutes. Now I have some on hand when I need a gorgeous card! :)
Thanks for coming by! I am excited to show you the banner I have been working on! So check back in on Thursday or Friday to see the cuteness I have been making for my mantle!

Birdie thanks

I'm home!!!! I had the most wonderful time in South Padre! We did so many fun things...I won't tell everything...but one thing that was really cool...We went to this Sea Turtle rescue place and they told us that they had babies that were hatching that night and that they would be released in the morning. So we got to go to the beach at sunrise and see baby sea turtle released into the ocean! How cool huh?!!! They were the cutest, most adorable things! It was fun to watch them! So you want to see a picture? Oh that's right you can't cuz guess who went on vacation and left her camera battery at home! That's right no pictures! Can you believe that! Oh well...we still had a wonderful time!
OK...card schtuufff. I made a set of these cards for some thank you's my sister needed. I played with this one alot till I found just the right accessories to balance the card with that darling bird! Easy card but time consuming!

2 Sweet Treat Holders

I think I have a serious case of Fridayitis!! I am so anxious for the weekend to be here. There is a ton to get done but on Sunday it will all be worth it when we finally leave for our vacation! One week of pure relaxation in South Padre. We have a beautiful condo to stay in....we are going to spend all of our time on the beaches and at the pool. We are also gonna hit Schlitterbahn, take in a firework show, eat some yummy food at restaurants you can only go to in Padre, see a movie or 2, take boat rides, oh my....I could go on and on.... It will be FUN!
Ok...on to stamping stuff which is why you came here! :) I found this idea on the Stampin' Up! website. Aren't these cute!? They are quite simple. I taught the girls at my Stamp Club how to make these...they loved 'em! We filled ours with m&m's but the possibilities of what to put in them are endless! They are perfect little treat holders...I have thought of so many things to do with them I just need a few more hours in the day to do them all! ;)

...who do we appreciate?...actually what do we appreciate? The new Stampin' Up! catalog!!! I am so excited to put in my order tomorrow of the things I just can't live without, which seems to be a hefty amount! :)
I made these 2-4-6-8 boxes for my Stamp Club girls. I wanted to give them a little something with their new catty. I used my new circle circus set. I love this set!!!! I filled the box with post-it's and a pen to mark up their new catalogs and some chocolates to munch on while they browse! I made them to kinda match the colors on the catalog cover! I think they turned out cute if I do say so myself!! :)

Circle Circus

Yeah for me! I finally found some mojo to create a card with my circle circus set that has been sitting on my stamp table feeling extremely neglected for over a week now! This cute set will be available for purchase on July 1st when the New Stampin' Up! catalog takes effect. I am loving these colors...they are so summery!! Also this card was pretty simple. I just stamped the images on a piece of white paper and used my various circle punches to punch them out! It was fun to play around with where to put them...I did that for a little bit to make sure they were just right!
Ok...on a non stamping note...I went to see Transformers 2 yesterday! It was great! I do have one complaint...there was alot of words that could have been left out and there were way too many half dressed girls. Being a mom of young boys, I was disappointed that there was so much of that in there. I don't think the movie would have been any less without all that stuff! The actual Transfomers stuff was awesome though! :)

In Color Butterflies

It's 12:30am and for the 2nd night in a row I am wide awake and can't sleep! So might as well do some blogging! :) When I finally got my preorder of new catty was about an hour before my stamp club meeting was going to start! Of course it was over a week late, so I open it up and they didn't send my stamp set I ordered! ugh! So I very quickly threw this card together just to be able to show the girls something! I know not my best. Please don't look at all the mistakes! Still it's something to share...something is always better than nothing...right?
Ok...I am going back upstairs and am going to attempt this thing you people call sleep ...yet again! We have a big exciting day tomorrow to go see Transformers 2 and I know my little guy is going to be waking me up early and wanting to get to the theater asap!! Hope you have a good evening or day...or whatever time of day you are seeing this!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there! I thought while I had a few quick minutes I would share the card I made for Shawners. I gave him a "new wallet". We always joke that he has a "George Costanza" wallet!! It seems to get full after a while and he knows it's finally time to clean it out when he is sitting and it makes one cheek sore! ;) {hmmm I dunno, was that too much info?}

A Father's Day Tie

We just got home from Kailee and Austin's swim meet! They both did so good! It's been really fun to watch them and see them compete with themselves to beat their times and to see how much they have improved from last year! :) So now that we are home and before I have to get to the rest of my "to-do" list I wanted to post this other Father's Day card I made. I actually made a couple of these. It is a easy card but super cute I think!!
I used the Boys Will Be Boys set again. {from Taylored Expressions} I saw a card that Laurie did a while ago with this image and I wanted to case it. I have no idea what the dsp is...I just know it was one of those "had to have" from Hobby Lobby. {I have waaayyyy to many of those}
Time to go and get started checking off my list!
