two challenges today!

Yippee...are you as excited as me that it's Friday?!! Only one more sleep till I go to see Michael Buble! I can hardly stand it....mmmm that voice just melts me like butta!! I'm also pretty excited about a night on the town with my hubby!! :)
Ok, Ok...on to card stuff...although I wouldn't mind spending more time on Michael...you will get enough of that after the concert though!! I made this card for today's LSC over at Splitcoast...here are the rules...
only one flower stamp (sentiment optional), No designer paper, No Cuttlebug, No background stamps, Any embellishments, No Rub-ons ... except for sentiments
This wasn't as tricky as I thought is was going to be and it turned out pretty ok. I used one flower & colored it in with my markers to make it more fun. I used a flower ribbon slide on some rose ribbon, added a few brads, some diamond stickles and added the sentiment with close to cocoa. I also sponged the edges to soften it a bit. EAZY PEEZY!!

stamps...True Friend
paper...kraft, old olive, apricot appeal, whisper white
ink...close to cocoa, markers; old olive, regal rose, apricot appeal

a cherry treat & birthday cards

Ughh...My internet was down all day yesterday and this morning I was finally able to get back on {after a lengthy phone call to customer service}...but I feel like I missed out on so much...really I didn't...cuz I have gone one whole day before without being on the computer! It's different though when you are too busy to get on and when your internet service provider says there is an outage...then really you find out your neighbors dog may have chewed the cable wires!! So what did I learn from this?...maybe I need to not be so attached to my computer! hmmm.....naaaa!!
Ok....How cute is this treat box? When I saw the Summer Picnic paper one of the first things I thought of was a treat container filled with these gummy cherries. They match the paper perfectly...plus who doesn't love a gummy cherry? The only thing that bugs me...which I was afraid of when I had the idea is that the gummies gunk up the acetate...so you have to put them in and then leave 'em alone. It still looks cute though. On the top of the box I punched a circle from the cherry paper with just one cherry on it and I used Crystal Effects to make the cherry shine. I also used my crop-a-dile to emboss the scallop.
what' in it?...
paper...real red, old olive, Summer Picnic dsp
accessories...acetate, crystal effects

other...crop-a-dile, sticky strip tape, scallop punch, 1 1/2 & 1 1/4 inch circle punch, giga square punch

I also made a couple of cards for upcoming birthdays. I did a girl & a boy one. I used the Birthday Whimsy set which is available in the Sale-a-bration catty. The boy one I have made before, I just used a different color combo this time...I got the card idea from Kristina. The girl one I just cut out balloons, added cord for the string and popped them up on dimensionals. Super easy and super quick cards today!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

day! I have to go finish getting some things ready for Book Club tonight! :)Hi!! I wanted to quickly share a project I made today...it only took me about 30 minutes! Since I spent last week reorganizing my stamp space I wanted something cheery to put on my stamp table! So I decided to give myself some flowers! I used the die-cut blooms that are available in the new Occasions Mini (you can orders yours starting March 1st) Since I didn't have to cut or punch anything it made this project go super fast. I also used my new silver hardware that I just got yesterday. (also available in the Occasions Mini) I added the word "happiness" from the love & happiness rub-ons. Oh and I got the little blue bucket from my local dollar store! Have a great One last thing!...I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the nice comments you gals have left me! I can't even tell you how much they brighten my day! It means alot to me to know that you are out there! I have made some great "cyber stampin' friends"!!! You guys rock!!!

bookmarks

I made these bookmarks for the girls in my Book Club...this month it's my turn to host so I thought this would be a fun little thing to give them! Wanna know a little secret!?...can I just tell you that the reason behind the bookmarks was a selfish one! I finally decided to get a crop-a-dile...after all this time of insisting I didn't need one...I have a hammer...it works! Well it is da bomb!!! It's like butta....setting them in. So after I got it I thought what can I make that will let me play with this thing alot! So I came up with the idea for bookmarks! I even impressed my little Tyson...{he's my 7 yr old & loves to stamp too} He said it was a marvelous & magnificent creation!...the crop-a-dile! {those of you that know Ty, know that this is the way he talks...he's got a 30 yr old mind trapped inside a 7 yr old body!!!} Gotta run...gotta go pick up that marvelous & magnificent creation we call Ty from a birthday party!!
Have a marvelous & magnificent weekend! :)

I will have to just make one for myslef I guess! I used my new Jersey Shore DSP. I used my Creative Memeories circle cutter to make the magnifying glass...it was a pretty easy card. double the fun

I made these cards in record time on Monday afternoon! After visiting Angie's blog and seeing her cute card I had to make a couple myself! If you haven't been to her blog...you really should...run, don't walk there....besides being a super talented stamper and scrapper she is a hoot...if I ever need a good laugh I head over to her blog!! These cards were super simple...which is what I am all about right now! For some reason I have been making everything in twos...it's always nice to build up the "stash" in case of a card emergency! I just cut out some squares of ds paper, punched out the little flowers and started sticking stuff down! They really were super fast, easy and I think they turned out pretty cute!
Enjoy your Wednesday...I have my last (hopefully) appointment with the foot doctor today and then I should be good to go! It will be so nice to start walking again!

a no stampin' card

Did I already say how much I love the summer picnic paper?...well I do...I LOVE IT!! I see alot of it in my future! The colors are fantabulous! When I buy a pack of designer paper, I always end up with one or two sheets that I don't really use....not this paper...I have thought of ways to use it all!! This was a fairly simple card. I didn't do any stamping. I used the layout from the sketch challenge at Splitcoast. I used as many pieces of my yummy paper as I possibly could! I also used my new die cut blooms that will be available in the upcoming Occasions Mini. They are great...easy to punch out without the little pieces to trim and they are textured cardstock. I punched a flower from the dsp to put in the build-a-brad. I distress edges and last added a ribbon..then I decided to try adding a rub-on on the ribbon...it went on alot better than I thought it would. After I was finished with the card I liked it so much I made another one...I just made a few small changes...I used my red striped ribbon and added a rub-on sentiment on the paper.
Have a great Sunday...Shawn left today for a 2 week business trip so the kids and I are enjoying some relax time after all the "busy" we have had...it's a gorgeous day here in Katy today!! We are even able to open the windows and enjoy a nice breeze!! :)

bride to be...

Wow...what a week...it went by so fast! I can't believe it's Friday already?!! We have had a busy week ! I will get to all that in another post but I wanted to share this card I made for someone...I can't tell you who it's for cuz she checks out my blog...although if she reads this she may guess it's for her! I finally got my stuff I preordered from the Occasions Mini catalog. It was sitting in SLC for a while waiting for the weather to cooperate. I love the Big on Spring stamp set...it is so darling...I have already used all 3 of the stamps. I knew there wouldn't be a ton of opportunities to use the "bride" stamp so I am taking advantage of every chance I get!! I used the colors from the Summer Picnic DSP. I colored in the image with my blender pens and markers. I layered lots of papers, added a few brads, a little ribbon...and whalla! (is that a word?) Well...have a fantastic day! Thanks for stopping by!!
