A Thanksgiving Table

Happy Thanksgiving weekend!!! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! We had a fabulous Turkey Day! It was so relaxing...full of family time! It was perfect. We didn't have any visitors and we didn't go anywhere it was just us and we loved it! I thought I would share our Thanksgiving table since it was very crafty. I have been working on it here and there over the last few weeks. I like to keep things simple when it comes to the table so that the clean up is that much easier. I have never been big on "real" plates...cuz it's just more dishes to wash. I always find cute square paper plates and then we pull out the fancy wine glasses so we can have sparkling cider! So...under the flowers is a placemat type thing I made. I got the idea from Mary Jo's blog. It was so just cut out the large pennant die in different coordinating papers with your Big Shot and tape them together. The confetti circles are just extras from cutting out the pennants. I made some paper pumpkins for the center too. Each person got a pillow box with Andes Mints in them. I punched a big scallop circle from my giga scallop punch to put under the sparkling cider glasses. I used some dsp from last year that I had for the place mats under the plates...the colors just happened to match my Autumn Vine paper. The last thing is the name cards...I posted those awhile ago...I used some Doodlebug Rub-Ons for the names.
Have a wonderful rest of your holiday weekend!

Love Owl-ways

WooHoo for Friday...I am glad the week is over! I am sooo looking forward to a fun Thanksgiving week next week...only a few more days to go!! I should be doing my laundry right now but there is nothing that says STAMP like laundry looming overhead! I thought I would do Beate's weekend challenge since it's been awhile since I have been able to participate. I have had this darling Love Owl-ways set for weeks and haven't been able to ink it up so it was time to end the neglect! I stamped the images in black StazOn. I colored in the owl with blender pens and ink pads. I cut out the mailbox & lots of hearts {very tedious wrist is really loving me now!} and made the hearts look like they spilling out of the mailbox. The designer series paper piece is from the Country Living Holiday Kit. Ok...I have to go...that laundry is not going away!
Have an absolutely super fabulous weekend!!!!

santa claus

This cute santa came from Heather...check out her awesome video tutorial. This is super cute and really, really easy. I decided to attach it to a card but I am also going to make some as tags for gifts because inside his beard is where you can write the "To: & From:". I stamped 'Merry Christmas' inside this one but I forgot to get a picture of it!...oops! Also I don't have the scallop die from Stampin' Up! yet so I used my Marvy Giga Scallop Punch...which I think is pretty close to the same size as the die. I added some crystal stickles to the white on the hat but when I make it again I am going use diamond cuz this has a pink tint to it. I think the diamond stickles are more clear. I inked the edges of my kraft paper with white craft ink and added the red ribbon...that's it! SUPER EASY!
Have a great Thursday. I am going to be getting ready for our City of Katy Tree Lighting tonight. Kailee is singing with her choir there and they have some fun activities. Then we have our own little NYC Rockefeller Center moment when Katy's tree is lit! It's fun! :)

Lollipop Tree

Wow is it Tuesday already? The weekend went by so did Monday. I didn't get any stamp time till now! That's ok though...I had an absolutely fabulous weekend with my family.
I figured I would start out the morning with the color challenge on Kristina's blog. I immediately thought of my tree set when I saw the colors. I have wanted to make a Lollipop Tree since I saw so many cute ones on Splitcoast. I don't know why I am calling it a Lollipop Tree...that's just what it looks like to me! This was super easy. I just punched out circles in different sizes and crumpled and distressed them and add them to the tree with saffron brads. The sentiment if from the Seasonal Sayings rub-ons.
I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday! Thanks for coming by!

sparkly birthday cupcake

A quick post for today...I have such a busy night with all sorts of kid things going on! I wanted to take a few minutes to stamp for fun since I have been working on orders lately! I went to Splitcoast to check out the challenge for was to use watercolor paper. That means I had to watercolor...well not had to, choose to! {bad idea} This is an area that I am not very good at...and that's putting it nicely! I just can't seem to get it down. I really think my "Monk" like qualities get in the way...I feel like I need to color it all in! I really need somebody who is good at this to show me how to do person! Any takers? is my card. I attempted a watercolored cupcake. After I colored it, I covered the edges in Cotton Candy Stickles...the flame and the sprinkles have Crystal Effects on them. The saying is from the Seasonal Sayings rub-ons.
Ok...gotta kids are already starting in on me!!

Flurries of Fun

I have been busy working on some birthday invites for my daughter so I thought I would share this card I made a while back. I submitted it for a contest but it didn't win. Oh well...I like it and I think I am going to make another one so I can have one in my stash! I used Tombow glue to adhere the dazzling diamonds for the snow. It gives it a little more dimension using the glue instead of embossing it. It "snowed" on the ground and some of the tree branches and a few of the snowflakes are glittering too. (I used my stamp-a-ma-jig so that the flakes would be randomly perfect!) I added a few brads to some of the snowflake middles. I love the paper in the Frosty Days dsp pack that had the words in I used that for the sentiment and punches out a few of the letters to highlight it! I think that's about it!
I am still fighting my cold but I am determined to win!! So I am hoping for a great day...even if I can't breath, hear or smell very good! :) Have a terrific Tuesday and THANK YOU so much for stopping in! **chat at ya later**

Cupcake Birthday

Good Sunday afternoon...hope you have all been enjoying your weekend! I have had a cold so I spent most of yesterday in bed just feeling terrible but now I am feeling slightly better! I was able to go last night to a special choir concert that Kailee was in. **Proud Mom moment here--->she was in the Region Choir, she was one of about 200 in the choir and those 200 were chosen after over 700 kids auditioned. It was a beautiful concert...the music was wonderful...if you weren't looking at them you would've never guessed that those were 7th & 8th graders singing! They were awesome! We were very proud of her!**
Anyway...back to some stampalicious card schtuff! I have had this set and haven't gotten a chance to ink up much. I stamped the image in black StazOn and colored it in with my blender pens and ink pads. The paper came from a few of the extra sheets that were in with the new Country Living Holiday Collection chipboard ornaments. I added stickles to the frosting of the cupcakes and crystal effects on the cherries.
Well...I am gonna go have an early dinner with the fam and then we are going to a friends house. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Turkey Place Card

Yeah for Friday!!! I am so glad the weekend is here!! We are gonna be kinda busy with things going on but I anxious for some relax time too! :)
So what do ya think of this little guy on a place card? I love it! I took the same turkey from this card and just made it into a place card. I used a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch cardstock for the base. I used all my different punches for the turkey. For the name part I used some Doodlebug rub-ons. I sponged around a torn piece of paper with mustard on the piece of white paper. Last I added a piece of chocolate twill ribbon. The kids and I are going to make these for our Thanksgiving table this year. I guess it's a tradition we have {I am just now realizing I have made this a tradition and did it!} The kids and I make place cards ever year for our table. The kids think it's so fun to come to the table and find their spot! I thought they would love all the punching to make this it should be lots of fun!!! :)

Mr. Twigster's House

Ok...first things first! I did not come up with this idea myself! I totally cased Andrea's super cute idea! She has the most wonderful projects on her blog! Please go look at her cute card holder house and her fabulous cards! I just saw hers on her blog and then went to work on my own because it was too cute not to try! :) Andrea offers this as a class planner. You can order detailed instructions with pictures so you can create your own or hold a class. as not to take away from what she worked so hard to put together (& because mine is alot rougher than hers) I am not going to put up directions for the how to! I just don't feel good about gaining anything from her work! Yes..I sat down and figured this out on my own but only after seeing hers! So I hope you enjoy anyway! It was alot of fun to make and it has a definite WOW factor! :) Feel free to look at my pics and pick it apart so you can make your own too! I did use Mr. Twigster as my theme...cuz he needs a house of his own...don't ya think? Doesn't this just look like the place Mr. Twigster would live?!
chat at ya later...have a wonderful Wednesday!

Harvest Window

Good Sunday Evening! I had the most awesome afternoon nap today! My sweet hubby and kids were so great to let me get some much needed rest! Shawners is going to be out of town this week so he knew I needed to start the week well rested! AND on top of that he and the kids cleaned the whole house so that I wouldn't have to do it tomorrow!! Are they the best or what?!! Also...we are suffering from a Halloween Candy hangover...but isn't that what it's all about! :) We had alot of fun trick-or-treating Friday night.
Here is a card a I made a while back. I am doing a card class this week at my church and this is one of the cards some ladies signed up to make. I stamped the window and sentiment in Staz-On ink. I colored the image with my blender pens. On the top window I filled the whole thing in with Crystal Effects to give it the look of a real window. I also added some to the fruit to make it look a little more 'real' too. I used my new favorite the chunky chocolate ribbon {there is just something about saying chunky chocolate that I love!} I finished off the card with a few brads. I hope the ladies will have fun making this one!
Have a fabulous start to your week!!
