BLOG CANDY....finally!!

Ok...so I am a few days late...but what else is new?!! I can't even explain how busy it has been at my house!! I have been on the run non-stop since I got back in town and it's not quite letting up yet!! {note to self...don't leave town 2 weeks after school starts...too much going on!!} This is a random little pile of things for blog candy, but still counts as good candy I think!! I also wanted to hit Archivers before I posted this to add something or 2 somethings...but I haven't found the time to go yet but I should be able to make it there later this week...so whoever wins this candy will get a little extra surprise with their candy!! I have no idea what question to ask?....my mind is too full of 'stuff' to even think...hmm...give me just a minute!...Oh I know...how 'bout this...Do you have a favorite baked good you like in the fall? There is something about fall that makes me what to bake even more and one favorite I have that I save for this time of year is my Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread! Oh, just typing about it makes me what some right now!! (...of course it could also be that "fall" smell on my hands, I just came from Bath & Body Works!) I will share my recipe for my, oh so good, (if I do say so myself) Pumpkin Bread later this week! *How to get this candy?...Leave a comment on this post (just one please) and you are entered to win! I will draw a name on Friday at noon, so you have until then!! Good Luck! Have a fabulous Monday!!!
***THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of you who visit my blog...you are absolutely wonderful!!!***

All right. . .everyone who has posted on here HAS to give up their recipes! I'd love to have some new pumpkin recipes. . .so give em up! :)
That being said, I don't know that I have a favorite thing I bake in the fall. I love to bake anyways. . .so I guess it's more chocolate chip cookies for me. I do have my favorite candle to burn in the fall though. . .Mulled Cider from Gold Canyon Candles. Whenever I burn it, my boys tell me it smells like fall!
Love the stuff on your blog!

Oh man, I was just going to say my fave fall treat is Pumpkin Roll w/ cream cheese, but that's what someone else posted! It's still a fave, but a VERY close second would have to be Apple Crisp! Love those file folders you made!

Iced pumpkins muffins are my favorite this time of year - moist, spicey, slightly sweet... Hmmm, I can almost taste them now!!!

I like the smell of something spicy baking in the fall. Pumpkin is nice, but gingerbread is my favorite, with lemon sauce or whipped cream. Not the box kind, but made from scratch.

Yum...the flavors of Fall. My favorite is Zuchinni Bread. I also have a wonderful recipe for zuchinni chip cookies. Every year we love to go to a pumpkin patch here that makes fresh pumpkin donuts - there is nothing tastier than a bag of hot fresh donuts. No matter how many we buy, they are generally all gone before we get home with them:)

I must have visited the same blog Pattyjo did. I love warm apple crisp, especially in the Fall and Winter. This is a good version, plus you make it in a crock pot and get to smell it all day. Thanks for letting me play along. Looking forward to the pumpkin bread recipe. I discovered pumpkin ice cream in the store yesterday, so am in heaven!!

Nutty Apple Streusel Dessert

6 c. sliced, peeled tart apples
1 1/4 tsps ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 c. milk
2 Tbs butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c. biscuit/baking mix

TOPPING:
1 c. biscuit/baking mix
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
3 Tbs cold butter
1/2 c. sliced almonds (I think I had walnuts, so used those)
Ice cream or whipped cream, optional

HOW TO: In a large bowl, toss apples with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place in a greased 3-qt slow cooker. In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and baking mix. Spoon over apples.

For topping, combine biscuit mix and brown sugar in a bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Add almonds; sprinkle over apples. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until the apples are tender. (I think mine was done in 3-4 hours, so it may depend on your slow cooker). Serve with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Yield: 6-8 servings.

If any of you have a Great Harvest Bread Company in your area, reserve your pumpkin cream cheese roll now for the holidays! It's as good as homemade and a great substitute when you don't have time!

I am so ready for fall and to get rid of these 90'+ Texas temperatures!!!
