Time to say Goodbye!

I think my camera has bit the big one! I have been trying to revive it...but to no avail! It has sentenced itself to a life with forever pink tinted (and now blurred) photos! If you happen to be in the market for that kind of camera...let me know I have a deal for you! ;)
So...I know that there are lots of you out there that have fabulous cameras and I thought why not go to the best resource I have! I have a few ideas of what I want but I would love it if you would leave some comments and tell me what camera you have that you love! (or which camera your friend has that you love!!) What is the best? What is the best deal for the money? Best place to purchase? Any and all information you want to share would be awesome!!!
THANKS...all ya'll are so great!! I can't wait to hear what you have to say!! Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
chat at ya later!

I just got a Nikon D90 and I know I will love it when I figure out all the bells and whistles that my point-and-shoot didn't have! Best Buy package with a lens is where I got mine. I also considered J&R Computer online, but I was able to get some upromise rewards for my son's 529 college fund this way AND my Best Buy Rewards. Oh, Dell sells them too.

I bought the Canon Digital Rebel XT a few years ago. The new version is called the XTI. It is an awesome camera. It can be used in manual or auto mode. I noticed that you have children. I love this camera, because it takes instant shots with NO delay, like the normal digital camera. It's expensive, but the best investment I ever made. It takes beautiful shots. It would be great for all kinds of picture taking. Family or cards. Good luck. I hope you find a nice one:)

One more thing...sorry I lost my thoughts for a second. What I meant to say about me noticing that you have kids. The reason why I love this camera is, it's hard to stop action with a normal camera. You miss the important moments. Like when kids are blowing out the candles on their birthday cakes...you miss the moment when their cheeks are full of air, because you can't time a camera with a deay. It's also great for sports and many other types of photography. I'm not a professional. I just like taking pictures for memories of my kids etc. This camera is very easy to use. It is a little bulky though. I hope this helps.

Yep, go with a DSLR! I have a Nikon D70 (older model) and it's treated me well. You will not be disappointed. It seems like a lot of money up front, but trust me, it's worth every single penny.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I love love love LOVE it. Super easy to use, takes amazing photos and you can get a bundle from Costco (which includes the digital SLR camera and a couple of lenses) for a very good price. My only piece of advice is this: don't buy anything you haven't had a chance to touch and hold. You want to make sure it feels good in your hands and that you will be comfortable using it! Good luck with your decision!

Hi, Tara--

Sorry to hear about your camera. Electronics pick the darndest times to die, don't they? I have a Canon Point and Shoot digital and my husband has a Canon Rebel XTI. We purchased both of ours from a Ritz Camera and they were great. Both cameras even came with a class to help us understand a little about how that camera works. Hope that helps you in your search!!

I enjoy your blog, btw! :-)

I received the Sony Alpha 300 DSLR for Christmas and so far I am very pleased with the results. The reason I went with Sony was because my film camera was Minolta and I have some great lenses for it which are compatible with my new Sony digital. I'm from Canada and my husband bought it at Future shop. The price was $449.00 Cdn. Hope this helps. Good luck choosing!

I have a Fuji and just love it! Just came back from taking some exquisite pictures at Disney of the castle at New Years. Got it off Ebay from Tri-Camera. That even helped me out over the phone giving me some pointers. I've been very happy with their service.
