Par-fect

I know?...right? You can pick your jaw up from your keyboards...you are seeing this correctly! I have posted another card the day after my last post....NOT a week later! I told ya I had a whole mess of cards I made yesterday! Actually I was in such a hurry that as I was finishing cards I was putting them right into the envelopes and sealing them up. When I was done it occurred to me that I hadn't photographed any of them...so what's a girl to do? Yep...you guessed it...I opened them all, took the pictures, and then put them in new envelopes! :) I know some of you out there will understand!!
Like so many guys out there...to say my brother loves to golf is a major understatement! He SUPER LOVES it! This was another reason this stamp set was a must have for me! I stamped the image in black staz-on ink. I applied the 2 way glue and used olive glitter to make "the green". I added a white brad for the ball. I also used crystal effects on the flag. I like the way this turned out...also my brother's cute little girls will probably love the glittery card! Thanks to Aunt Tara they will be glitterfied! {I know I was for two days while I made the card and every time I touched it! At one point I went to look in the mirror and I looked like a 12 yr old trying to look cool by wearing glitter all over my face!}
Anyway....Have a fantasticly fantabulous Friday!!!

The Grill Master

I have been working furiously to finish a whole mess of Father's Day cards I wanted to send off to some of the dads in my family. I finished them at the very last minute of course...I ran them to the post office today right at 5:00pm just in time for them to be sent. Now hopefully they get there on time!!!
This one is a card I made for my brother. We don't live close to each other for me to know first hand (only once a year or so when we visit him) but I have heard that he is a "grill master" so when I saw this image in the Boys Will Be Boys set I loved it!! This card was a stretch for me cuz I was trying to match my own colors to this Cosmo Cricket paper instead of being so dependent on all of Stampin' Up!'s color matching stuff. It turned out better than I expected it to. I think he will like it! This grill is so cute though...how could ya not?
Gotta run...time to be taxi driver again...I have been schlepping kids back and forth all over the place this week!! :)
Have a fabulous day...chat at ya later!

A flower pot

These little flower pot cards are all the rage. I have seen them everywhere...and I have seen some really, really cute ones! I made this one to show my Stamp Club girls. A HUGE thank you to Andrea Walford. She made a printable template for the pot. I just printed right onto my cardstock and cut it out...it couldn't have been easier! This was fun...I just took my time playing with the flowers and arranging them, sponging them to add some dimension. I love these flowers...they are all on one die that I ran through my Big Shot. I am telling you if you do not have a Big Shot you really are missing out!!! It's one of the best toys ever! :) {oops I forgot to take a picture of the insert and the sentiment}
Gotta run I have another class to get ready for! Is everyone enjoying their summer so far?? I know we are!! Have a fabulous day! chat at ya later!

Lunch Sack Albums

The books ended up pretty bulky after they were done but that's ok!
I didn't want to put other kids pictures on my blog without parents permission so I just photographed Ty's page.
I used jumbo eyelets to bind the book and put the ribbon through
Only a 1/2 day of school left!! I think I am gonna make it!! Although...this has never happened to me on a school day...I totally overslept this morning...missed my alarm, Shawn even said "wake up i am leaving" and nothing. I woke up at 8:15 which is the time the little boys are supposed to be at school!! aghhhhh! So the boys were late to school...oops. I think mentally I must be already out for the summer!!!
These are the lunch sack albums I made for Ty & Kyler's teachers. There is a picture of each child in the book. Also I went into the classrooms one day and kicked the teachers out so I could ask the kids questions. I put all of their answers on the back pages of each insert. Questions were, "What has she taught you?", "What will you miss about being in her class?" "Funny or silly things you remember from this year?" The answers I got were awesome! :) I think I used 4 sacks for each book. I bought a Simply Scrap Kit for each book {2 Sweet & Hoppy Memories} and just used mostly elements from that to decorate! On the back page of the book is a paper with all the kids signatures on it. These were so fun to do and I think both teachers loved their book!!!
Have a great day!

There's no tie

It's Sunday evening and I forced myself to finally make these 2, beyond simple, little cards that I have been thinking of all week. Does that tell you what my week was like!...crazy! Only 4 1/2 more days of school left and then my life will be a little more relaxed! I love the summer time and am super excited to have more free time!! :) {cuz that means a little more therapy time for me} I just grabbed some scrap ribbons I had in my ribbon container and tied them around the cardstock...that's it...sooo easy! I added the cute sentiment, it's from the Taylored Expression set Boys Will Be Boys. Have a great night and a fantastic week!! Thanks!!

a dad's toolbelt

No...you aren't seeing things...it really is me posting! I am telling ya...end of the school year keeps a girl busy! I have not had any time to do any stamping! This afternoon I forced myself to sit down and make a card with the image I stamped a few days ago. I stamped this toolbelt and then let it sit cuz I didn't know what to do with it after that! Is this not the cutest/coolest toolbelt! I ordered this set 'Boys Will Be Boys' from Taylored Expressions late Friday night and it was in my mailbox Tuesday! This by far one of the cutest and best Father's Day sets I have ever seen!!! :) I can't wait to ink up more of the images!!! Have a fabulous weekend! I would love to say check back soon...but let's face it girls! It's not gonna happen till school is out! 4 1/2 more days...yippee!

Love Birds

Hi all....I haven't gotten lost! I have just had a lot going on...which means my blogging is always what gets pushed to the bottom of the to do list. I hurt my back about 2 weeks ago and it kept me from doing anything for a week. I was confined to my black recliner and was bored to tears! I was on some medications...so I wasn't quite myself. I am feeling much, much better now though!! Also I have been working on some very special gifts for Tyson and Kyler's teachers for an end of the year 'Thank You' and' We Will Miss You'! I can't wait to be able to show you!!...just a few more weeks! Thanks for not giving up on me!! :)
I made these as invitations for a 25th wedding anniversary party a friend I threw for some other good friends! I wanted something really simple that just conveyed the message of "still in love after all these years". I think this did it! You can kinda see the inside. Since I used a white base I decided to dress up the inside a little. I printed the party info on baja breeze and added some hearts to the corners of the invite. I colored my birds with my blender pens. I love doing simple!!
Thanks for checking in! chat at ya later....Have a wonderful day!!

Tree Card

Ok...first here is my disclaimer: I saw this card on someone else's blog. I thought it was sooo cute that I just had to case it! Now I am finally getting around to posting it and I CANNOT for the the life of me find the blog it was on! I know you are out there you crafty girl you...so please let me know if this looks familiar to you I really want to give you the credit! Please excuse my mess of a brain right now...it is scattered in so many directions that nothing is being remembered if it isn't written down!
Isn't this card cute? I loved the pink and green. This tree on the top note die cut...loving it! It just fits on there so perfect!
I hope you have a super fantabulous start to your week!! Thank you all so much for all the fun, encouraging and kind comments you leave!! chat at ya later!

I am home from the field trip and I am exhausted! I had 4 very active little boys in my group that ran from one thing to the next and I had to keep up with them! It was a lot of fun though...I wish I could take some of that 6 yr. old energy and bottle it up for myself! :)

A birthday tote

Today the kids are home from school...we got sooo much rain last night that the flooding was insane. School is canceled and the kids get a freebie! Shawn and I woke up about 3:45 to look outside cuz the thunder and hail was so loud. The water was half way up our yard. It's all gone now but some people in the Houston area weren't so lucky and they are dealing with much worse!
Here is a birthday tote I made to show my stamp club girls. I was really excited when I saw this idea...I have hardly used my basket die cut. I was glad for a reason to try something new with it! I love this birthday paper...I am almost out, I don't know what I will do when it's gone! {sniff, sniff} Here is a link to the tutorial I found for these totes. I backed my dsp with cardstock so it would be sturdier. I didn't have a chance to fill this up yet...but I will when I decide who it's going to.
Have a great and hopefully dry day! ;)

Fabulous Topiary

Just a quick post for today...I am ridiculously behind in all the things I need to get done. Despite being behind here I sit at the computer blogging! :) {sheepish grin here} This was just a simple card I made to play with my new Blooming with Love set that I got a few weeks ago. I have had fun playing with it and trying to color the terra cotta pot. I feel like that tiny little thing is about all I can handle when it comes to coloring something realistically with that light spot hitting it! :)
It's raining so hard right now...I am gonna go do some of my stuff and listen to the thunder and rain!

Choo, Choo....

Here is another one of the cards I made Friday. This one was fun. It took way too long for this little thing....but it was still fun to make! I colored each image with markers and stamped on white cardstock. I cut out each train car and adhered it with dimensionals. I rolled the track in close to cocoa. After cutting all the train cars I didn't feel like cutting out the little puffs of black smoke so I punched them out with my 1/2 in. circle punch. Once I got all the cars on, there wasn't really room for anything else so I added some olive ribbon and I was done!
Have a nice rest of your Sunday...hope you are getting to relax a little before the week starts!

Birds

I actually found some stamping time yesterday...truth be told I stamped all day! I think I found a little of my mojo that had left me! I was getting ready for my Stamp Club and I just started stamping all sorts of cards! I had so much fun...I haven't done random cards for a long time!! This one was the first one I did and I needed a starting point. I cased a card from the catalog. {I don't remember the page #...but it's next to the Zoofari set} I wanted to try out my new wheel guide. I finally broke down and got one because I never use my wheels...why you ask?...cuz I can never get them straight! I don't know why I didn't get one years ago! It's wonderful! {it's great for my OCD and my need to have it be perfect!} I stamped the birds in black Staz-On and colored with my blender pens and ink pads. I crumpled & ripped paper {very therapeutic}, added some ribbon and brads and card #one was done! :) I liked how it turned out so well this ended up being the make and take at Stamp Club.
I am excited to be able to have things to share with you this week! Thanks for coming by! Have a great weekend! chat at ya later...

Sympathy Card

Good Wednesday Afternoon!!!
This is my very first sympathy card I have ever made. Unfortunately I have needed them in the past but I never wanted to make one. I always felt more comfortable letting Hallmark do it! I decided to just bite the bullet and get the Thoughts and Prayers set. I loved all the sentiments and the tree is one of my favorite images! This came together quicker and easier than I thought it would. I wish I didn't need these in my stash...but I do so I guess I will be making a few more. I colored the tree with my chocolate chip and mellow moss markers. I was super impressed with myself after I was finished the card I realized I am capable of making a card that looks nice without ribbon! I didn't know it could be done! ;)
Have a fabulous day!! chat at ya later!
