rhinestone flower

Ok...so I got a few quiet minutes while my kids were playing at their friends' houses to make a card for today's color challenge at SCS. The colors were bashful blue, certainly celery & close to cocoa. I actually didn't stamp on this card at all! I cut out the flower from the Designer Series Paper 'Cutie Pie'. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the celery paper and I used my funky circles die cute to make the blue middle and little ring inside the flower. I sponged most of the paper and added some ribbon and some rhinestone brads for some bling!! :)
THANKS for stoppin' by today!!
what's in it?...
stamps...none!
paper...close to cocoa, certainly celery, bashful blue, whisper white

girly & boyish

I have 2 cards to show you today! I couldn't sleep again last night (it happens when my hubby is out of town...hard to sleep...although I love having the whole bed to myself and sprawling out right in the middle!!) Anyway...I was able to get 2 cards finished. One a little girly and one a little boyish. I have been wanting to use my boat again but make it more girly! So I did...I used a pink instead of red and added lots and lots of sparkle. I also wanted to use that cute heart being tugged along behind! I used my Cuttlebug again...I used a new swirl folder I just got. I did some piercing, added a ribbon & brads and I was done.

lots of flakes

Good Monday Morning...I couldn't sleep the other night...so I stamped instead! This is what I came up with...I'm not sure what I think of it yet...maybe cuz it was 1:00AM & I got a little blurry eyed towards the end. I took the color idea from one of the Simply Scrappin' Kits...I love this color combo...I think it's one of my favs! I used my 2 snowflakes from the 'In the Spotlight' set. I did some paper piercing, crumpling & distressing. On the blue paper I used a stamp that works well as a background it's from the 'You make me Happy' set. I finished with 2 rhinestone brads and some crystal Stickles.

happy BOO!

I just felt a little Halloweenish today. I think because I took my kids to the book store yesterday (we love to go & read and of course, play at the train table) and they had a bunch of Halloween books out already!...made me wish it was Halloween! I wanted to use my one of my new cuttlebug folders that I ordered and so I did. The embossing folder is a bunch of little squares...so in keeping with the square thing...I did a square themed card....except it didn't occur to me till after I was done to make the actual card square!! oops...oh well! I used the super cute Booglie Eyes set. *Oh I also forgot until after I took the picture, one of the reasons I wanted to use this set was to put Crystal Effects on the eyes...I am waiting for it dry and then I will add another pic!
what's in it?...
paper...elegant eggplant, green galore, only orange, whisper white
ink...black, elegant eggplant, only orange, green galore
ribbon...apple green, orange
accessories...Cuttlebug, distresser, blender pens

Bronc Buster

Oh my...do you love this set or what!! I bought it so I could add to my slowly growing (still very small) collection of stamps for more masculine cards!! I've had fun playing with it ever since Mr. Brown dropped it on my doorstep today!! I used a strip of the Cosmo Cricket paper from the Wanted collection. I am in love with it!! I stamped the buckin' bronco image in Chocolate Chip onto Creamy Caramel paper. I did lots of sponging and lots of distressing to get a 'real cowboy' look! I added a brown photo anchor on the card and two brads on the bottom.
*So I guess I didn't quite get to the color challenge from SCS today...maybe later this week...but I had to play with my new set & pink just didn't go!! (the colors for the challenge are pretty in pink, regal rose and old olive)
***THANKS for stoppin' by and lookin'!! :)

sparkly birthday

A card I made for my sister's upcoming b-day. I used my new cutie pie DSP again and used my cuttlebug 'happy birthday' folder on the DSP. I used the cake from the Eat Cake set. I had to use my crystal stickles too...to make it sparkly and girly! In the corner is a chipboard piece that I covered in paper and put 3 brads on it to give it a look I have seen alot of but never tried! I like the color combo...plus it lets me use my "fat" ribbon which is one of my new favorites at the moment!! Hopefully today I will be posting another something...I want to find a minute to do the color challenge at SCS...& I am supposed to get something from "Mr. Brown" today too...but first I am off to see Harry Potter 5 with my 2 older kids! Happy Tuesday!

Fall flower

Ok...is anyone else loving this paper?....it's Fall Flowers! I love the unique color combo!! It's not something I would normally use...I don't think I have ever used Really Rust!...but it's got me wishin' it was fall! I did lots of layers for this card and used Really Rust, Sahara Sand, Groovy Guava & white, of course. I absolutely love this flower from the office accoutrement set! It's the reason I bought the set! I inked the flower in guava and used some glittery embossing powder on the edges of the flowers. I found this rust ribbon at Ribbons and Bows Oh My! I added 3 brads to the middle of my flower...just cuz I have seen it done on other cards & I had never done it before...it's cute! I used a little tag with "original" stamped on...just so I can say I have used something other than the flower from this set! :) Thanks for looking today...Have an awesome rest of your Monday!!!

Sunday hi

Just a quick Sunday hi...I used the new Designer Series paper "Cutie Pie". I also stamped and punched out some little flowers from the new punch box "Three for You". The colors are Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery & So Saffron. The 'hi' is from an alphabet stamp set from Doodlebug...(their stuff is so stinkin' cute!) I threw on a swirly clip and a ribbon that matches so saffron (the name escapes me at the moment). It's from Ribbon and Bows Oh My...(they are great too).
**Wow...look at all the comments so far for the blog candy! I can't wait to draw a name and see who gets it!! It has been so fun reading your comments!

BLOG CANDY!!!

Well...as promised here is the blog candy! I want to thank everyone for checkin' out my blog! It has been so much fun for me to do. It makes me sit down and create more often than I probably would and it's good therapeutic time for me!! :) Thanks so much...ya'll are awesome! Ok...so here's the deal....leave a comment & on Thursday the 26th in the a.m. I will draw a name for the winner of the "candy". Good Luck!
I know sometimes people attach questions, then you can leave your answer when you comment...so here is mine! We are about halfway through our summer break and we are reaching the "I'm bored.", "What can I do?" stage of the summer...(my disclaimer...I love having my kids home for the summer, I enjoy my time with them) but after a particularly hard week I was thinking wouldn't it be nice if I could just disappear for a few days to have some "me" time...with no questions about being bored or anyone asking for a drink or a snack! So where would you pick up & go to for a few days of total "you" time? My answer...well I have 2 kinda, cuz I just can't choose...I would go to one of the big NASCAR races...I love the races! Also I would fit in some time to go jet skiing and 4 wheelin'! My thought is...if I only get a few days...I wanna have fun!!!

What is all that "candy"?...2 sets of clear stamps, a love one and a party one...a frosted lace stickles...5 different colors ribbon...16 sheets of 6x6 paper from sei...clear buttons, brads and clips

tag...your it!

I was tagged by Tiffany (thanks Tiff) over at hook'd ink'd and stamp'd. She is awseome...her work is so cute and creative! She rocks! I guess now it's my turn...here are 3 gals I think ROCK...so here goes!
1. Penny at Mz. Penny Kreations. Her ideas are always great...plus she has more stamps than I have ever seen and she lives down the street from me...so that works out in my favor!! :)
2. Andrea at Sunny Stampin'. Super cute cards and ideas...I love everything I have seen!
3. Shannan at pink tulle with feathers and sequins. How could you not be a Rocking Girl Blogger with a cute blog name like that! I recently found her blog and she has great cards!
...also since I have seen this done before here are 5 random things about me!
* I love the rain..waking up to thunderstorms and a black sky is one of my favorite things!...those are the best baking days!
* I married my high school sweetheart!...13 years and goin' strong!
* I grew up in the Seattle area...
*...and I hate seafood...people think that's crazy, not me!
* my all time favorite food has to be tacos!...hands down...I could eat them everyday!

another cuttlebug card

Ok...so I didn't really get to play with my cuttlebug after my last post!!...why you ask? I talked about!...and made it not true!! I have been sooooo busy this week. Monday night I was all ready to play with my new toy and no such luck, kids needed me. Then it was one thing after another....everyday this week I wanted to sit down and do a card of some kind...but it just didn't happen! So here is a very simple & fast card I threw together this morning...before I got too busy! I used my new Cutie Pie paper on this card. I used Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. I just love the "fat" ribbon....it's my new favorite! My kids and I decided this card was dots on dots....I embossed the dotted patterened paper with my tiny bubbles folder. I used the cute little birds from the Zoofari set and colored them in with my blender pens. To finish it off I inked the edge of the white paper in celery and threw on 2 blue brads. Oh I also used my new cutter kit to distress the edges....love this new tool....saves my nails from alot of work!! :)
what's in it?...
stamps...Zoofari
paper...bashful blue, certainly celery, whisper white, Cutie Pie DSP
ink...basic black, certainly cerely, basful blue
accessories...blue brads, celedon "fat" 5/8 ribbon
other...Cuttlebug, blender pens

Couldn't wait till tomorrow!!

So I was way too excited to wait till tomorrow!! My UPS man surprised me and came earlier than usual today!! Good day to come early! He brought me my much anticipated Cuttlebug. So I thought that since I made a card with my new Cuttlebug...it was only fitting that the card "pose" with the Cuttlebug for the picture! I used my new stamp set Boatloads of Love. It is soooo cute! I used my Cuttlebug on the the blue (Buckeroo Blue) paper. The embossing folder is called tiny bubbles...perfect for a boat card! I also used Real Red and Old Olive cardstock. I used my blender pens to color in the boat and clouds. I am going to playing with this all night...if I can get my kids to keep away...we are already fighting for who is next!! :) Have an awesome Monday night....I know I will!!

Big Pieces...Little Pieces

Happy Monday!...Here is a card that I made this weekend. I snagged the idea from the new catalog. (pg. 95) In the catty it was made using the new Little and Big Flowers sets. I don't have those yet but thought the card idea was cute so I used my Big and Little Pieces sets. I really like these colors together...I used Wild Wasabi, Purley Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, and Soft Sky. The card doesn't fold in half....it's a little shorter on the front side and I added a strip of Purley Pomegranate with a couple of brads...I like how the card "flaps" around not being perfectly scored in half!
I hope everyone has a great Monday!!! I am super excited because I ordered a Cuttlebug last week and it should be here today...I love having new things to play with!! I have seen so many cute, cute things done with these cool little machines from so many of your blogs! I can't wait to use it on my cards...bet you can guess what will be posted tomorrow!! :)

A flowery square

It's been a while since I have been able to sit down and stamp. I didn't realize how much time had gone by since I last posted something! I decided to try a square card this time since I have never done one before. Last Saturday my sweet, sweet husband took the kiddos for the whole day and I was able to spend hours guilt free at a few scrapbook stores...getting lots of goodies that I thought were very necessary!! :) (also I found some goodies for BLOG CANDY...so keep an eye out for that...it will be coming soon!!) This cute patterned paper (by Cosmo Cricket) was one of the papers I found!! I love it! It has the perfect color combo!...Real Red, Soft Sky & River Rock. When I finally got around to stampin' last night I wanted to use this first...and I thought this cute flowery dress would be perfect with it! I love this dress and haven't use it very much. I used my blender pens & did the dress in soft sky and did real red & river rock flowers. I didn't want to cover up the pretty paper so I opted for simple...so only the dress is on the card. I layered with River Rock over the Real Red. I pierced the edge all the way around the River Rock and also across the strip with red ribbon on it. I sponged the dress image with Soft Sky and added 2 red brads to finish it off.

A happy accident

So...I had a major block yesterday when I tried to sit down & play with my chipboard. I had no creativity at all & was just making a mess. I inked my circle in white craft ink & then was going to emboss it so I covered in in powder... then oops!...I used the thick embossing powder which I wasn't intending to do...but ya know my major block prohibited me from making good decisions!! So I figured what the heck...I heated it & what to ya know...it looked really cool! It looks like water spots or dew or something! :) I used my stipple brush to ink the chipboard not covered by the embossing powder...that's how it turned pink! I used Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Pretty in Pink, this weeks color challenge at SCS. Every once in a while happy accidents happen!...ya gotta love those!! :)

Cute little button

I found this paper in one of my many trips to Hobby Lobby! I wanted to use it for something today since it's been sitting in my stack of "papers to be used cuz I just couldn't leave the store with out them" pile! I liked the little bit of blue in the paper, it's from My Minds Eye. I used the Baroque Motifs...again! I stamped the image in Wild Wasabi and sponged the edges with chocolate chip. I used a little ballet blue button for the center to bring out the blue in the paper. It's hard to see but I stamped the word cherish on the strip of dotted paper on the bottom. The square brads are another great Hobby Lobby find.

A brown motif

Ok, Ok I know...3 in a row with the same set...same basic ideas....but it's just so fun to play with! I love brown and pink...well I like brown with any color...it's so cute! This was a fun, quick card! I finally pulled out my scrapbooking this weekend and decided that this summer is my time to catch up...I am so horribly behind! So be looking for some scrapbook pages...as soon as I find my camera amid the HUGE mess that is my office! No wonder it's such an ordeal to scrapbook...I have to have everything even remotely scrapbook related next me when I work, just in case I might need it!! Anyway...happy Monday...have a great week! :)
