and the project is?....

...a catty knock-off! I have been wanting to make one of these since I saw the idea in the Stampin' Up! catalog...click here to see the catalog version. I already had the ceramic vase...for a few years I have had it out in different places & it's always been empty...so yesterday it hit me that it was a perfect vase for this project!! I love when inspiration hits! I was to impatient to order the felt flowers from the catty so I ran to Hobby Lobby & found these flowers by American Crafts. I really love the colors...they are a perfect fit for my decor. I bought some sticks in the floral dept. Then I took it home & started assembling. It was actually quite easy...getting all the sticks in just the right place is what took me so long! My OCD did not help!! I used a hot glue gun to make the branches just the way I wanted them & also adhered the flowers with that too. For some of the bigger flowers I added a rhinestone brad & for the small ones I added a pearl. I also wanted to add rub-ons to the vase but I felt like it would be too much so I just added a chocolate ribbon...{not sure if I will keep that or not?...what do you think?} I am attaching a bunch a different pic to this post because I had a hard time taking one I liked. This is going to sit on my mantle. The wall looks white & boring behind it even though my walls are not white! I am not photographer...so attaching all my pics instead of having one good one will have to do!!
Have a wonderful weekend!!! {hugz} ...T

I love this idea too - I saw it originally in a Martha Stewart Magazine and I copied it to remember later. Great job!
